@BigHornyDevil - can you expand on what all you are working on right now or where you hope your sour program is going? Are you trying to focus on fruited sours, do you have one of those sweet foeders, etc.?

We are always more than happy to crack a few and tell you our thoughts...especially when they are that good!

I legitimately had no idea that you could bag beer. Learn something new every day.

As someone who has had a lot of sour beer and is still not a big fan, I really enjoyed Sour Monkey. It has taken me a couple years to build up my tolerance to the tart/pucker flavors, and I probably would have had the same reaction as you before I knew how to adjust my expectations.

I will say that I didn't really find the beer that sour compared to some others like La Folie - which I find almost unpalatable.

Oh I didn't mean I didn't like your brewing. I never had it, I just knew someone said you brewed, and I was just saying like oh big fan of you work, the funny stuff on here, not the brewing (meaning I never had anything from you)

This has me excited to try some of your stuff, @BigHornyDevil . Keep me posted on what's available and when I could meet you to try some.

Hopefully @voodoobrewery will offer a trade in, similar to what Funky Buddha did with BA Muy Bonita. At least Muy Bonita tasted good (as long as you didn't smell it).
Even if they just offered bottles of non barrel aged Bourmuda Triangle and breakfast of champions. Would take away some of the sting of having 1/4 of the beers we had to drive Twice to pick up, being infected.

@BigHornyDevil actually I lied. I think I had one of your beers. Did you brew one called Veronica? Am I thinking of the right bottles? Although it was before I actually rated stuff on untappd and just ticked it, so I don't remember what I thought of it. I didn't hate it though, because I would have commented on how I hated it.

Has their been any sort of acknowledgement from Voodoo that it was infected? Yesterday was the first I'd heard of that.

I had posted maybe a week or 2 ago on the old forum, after I got a text from my trade partner in St Louis that her bottle was a sour apple drain pour. @kbuzz volunteered to try his, but @greg4579 beat him to it.

I'm with Mike on this one. Would love to try your stuff sometime. I always heard good things through the grapevine.

@dannyfayy the bottle @kbuzz has it from my allotment that I traded to him so I guess we need that fool to get to drinkin' so we have another opinion. Seems pretty widespread, though.

I'm fairly unfamiliar with what causes infection and what sort of issues can result in what flavors. Does anyone know what specifically could cause an infection that would result in this green apple taste?

@BigHornyDevil going back through my untapped it looks like Ive only had one of your beers, Narumi. It was at a larger bottle share IIRC. I gave it a 4 so I would say that I enjoyed it. Would always welcome the opportunity to try more and give feedback.

I had Blackbeard's on draft over the weekend at a tap takeover. I did not get the "green apple" profile but it was definitely not great in my opinion. Just tasted very off to me, kinda funky, maybe a little sour? A friend of mine loved it, drank quite a few that night actually haha. I have not opened a bottle of mine yet, so there may be a difference between tap and bottle. But overall, very disappointed that it fell off. I was really into it when it was first released. Old Jive Turkey is still very good I think. That was my fav and still is. I did not have a TFK, I had the cucumber beer that was incredible, and a few newer IPAs that I have never had from them. All were very good.

The possibility of a North Hills location was something the new owner mentioned once in an interview back in December that has seen print multiple times since, without any further substantiation. Since then, plans have been way deferred to focus on expanding the existing establishment (just broke ground on an extension to the deck last week). Sorry, it sounds like whomever you spoke with was confused.

Yeah I was under the impression that the North Hills location was more or less hearsay. Thanks for the clarification.

No problem. Not necessarily hearsay, but just something said on a whim that's snowballed. It doesn't help that the boob who does Ho1KB's social media shares articles that perpetuate this rumor without verifying it with management.
