I have a friend coming to Illinois from Pittsburgh and she offered to bring me some brews back that I wouldn't ordinarily have access to. I was just wondering if any BA'ers from Steelers country could help me point her in the right direction as far as bottle shops and breweries to look for go.

FYI I've had much of what Troegs and Victory have to offer (love them!), but I'm looking to branch out even more with some local stuff.

    Any help is appreciated!

The obvious one here is Head Hunter IPA from Fatheads (technically an Ohio brewery, but distribution to Pittsburgh.) More local to Pittsburgh would be Fulll Pint brewery. They have a decent selection - especially their IPAs. Good luck and enjoy whatever you get!!

Helltown has some bottles as well as Lavery. VooDoo would be another.

If she is driving, stop off in Ohio to get some White Rajah, Columbus IPA, (and Head Hunter if it wasn't grabbed in Pittsburgh). You should also be able to find some Alesmith (speedway,etc..) Epic (big bad baptist) and Three Floyds Bombers.

Then again, if she isn't driving, disregard everything I've said

Thanks so much guys! So, basically what I'll be doing based on what I see here is I'll just give her some specific breweries to look for at bottle shops in the area. I will also specifically direct her to Fatheads since that seems to be the popular vote.

She will be driving, so space contraints aren't too bad, but I don't want to inconvenience her. I will most likely only ask for bottles, no growlers (this time).
