I don't know if it 's worth the drive from Morgantown, but it's too bad you couldn't make it to Carnivores. It was only a 5 minute drive from Rivertown Verona.

I just got a Ceaser salad, but it was pretty good. In fact, everything I saw here looked really, really good. The draft list I just felt was kind of "mehhh." I ordered a glass of Big Hop IPA and SN harvest ale, which were fine, but nothing to really get excited about I thought. It didn't help that they were out of a fair number of choices on the menu (according to my server), and that he was unable (or unwilling) to tell me what they had been replaced with. Yes, slow and non-attentive service describes my experience to a T!

I don't get it either. The place was busy, but it was hardly what I could call slammed (open seats at the bar, and no waits for a table that I could see). There also seemed to be plenty of serving staff.... I don't get it.

The Industry Public Inn is the kind of place that you WANT to like (IMHO). However, after my experience with a glass of bourbon that I ordered (I reviewed the place on BA), they pretty much cured me of that.

I know. I considered driving up, but I'm getting too old to visit more than two beer bar stops on a trip like this. In restrospect, I probably should have skipped the Inn and gone there instead. Of course it's easy to say that now.

Welcome to West "By God" Virginia ! We also stopped in the Jay's/The Apothecary.. Pretty good bar. Decent tap and bottle selection. Morgantown Brewing won't know your socks off but it does have solid, fresh beers as a great price.

The Apothecary seems to be the best spot in town. The beer there is invariablye fresh, the staff knowledgeable, and the selection pretty decent (for Morgantown at least). Prices are also decent (pint of Rogue XS stout for $4).

One thing for certain... my entertainment and beer expenses are going to go way down.
