My wife and I will be driving from Pittsburgh to Athens over the holiday. I know we plan to stop in Marietta as she has family buried there. Curious if there's any breweries we "need" to stop at on the way. Our route is flexible, only with the aforementioned stop in Marietta. Travel will be on the Sunday before Memorial Day, and that part is not flexible. Jackie O's taproom closes at 7 on Sunday, so we need to be in Athens before 7. Any suggestions? Thanks
Little Fish in Athens https://littlefishbrewing.com/ Rockmill in Lancaster (just north of Athens area) http://www.rockmillbrewery.com/ If you feel like venturing closer to Columbus, lots going on there (Hoof Hearted, Wolf Ridge, CBC, North High, Brew Dog etc etc)
My bad, I'm very familiar with the breweries in and around Athens, as I'm from Ohio. And somewhat familiar with those actually in Pittsburgh. I'm more interested in the ones that would be on a route between Pittsburgh and Athens. Nevertheless, thank you, BeerVikingSailor.
2 breweries in Wheeling, WV, Wheeling Brewing Co. and Brew Keepers. http://www.wheelingbrewing.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Brew-Keepers-159707620879939/
You could swing your route back through Newark with a 30 minute penalty and hit up dankhouse for some NE IPAs.
