Someone I know is there and I asked them to spare me a can of each that released this week so no need to drive down

My car is making an awful noise so I wasn’t going to drive down anyways

Why has there been such a drought of cans of SSU?

Hat tip from a Lions247 member. Georgia, right? Athens is a heck of a town.

PS: Tell them to back off Lewis Cine, please.

Lions247 is a great site. Right up there with Cowboy Crunch at Neato Burrito in my book.

Whoa. Don’t get me hungry for that when it’s already closed.

Don't hate me, but never really liked Neato Burrito. Would rather Chipotle or Moe's.

I thought adjust the tracking was nice...I’ll try the lemon before the weekend is through most likely

Got to finally visit Pizza Boy on my trip to Pittsburgh last weekend. It was the first drinking stop and as soon as I saw Sunny Side Up on their ridiculously oversized menu I knew I had to get it.

I didn't care if the first beer of the trip was a +9% ABV beast, it was worth it. Served in its own amazing coffee mug. So good I got a crowler for the road to bring home for my other buddy.

Great place though. Again, their beer menu is almost intimidating, but the beer is great and the pizza was just as good.

Been to Al's several times these past few weeks. Some random notes

-Haven't enjoyed any NE-style IPAs from PB since the Yacht club. Adjust the Tracking and Fractured Visions both tasted like the hazy IPAs larger breweries try to make (Sam Adams NEIPA, Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing). Hazy but not juicy or flavorful.

-Low Hanging Fruit and Super Tight were both excellent. A hazy, session IPA is quickly becoming one of my favorite styles (see Funk's Sassy).

-Peach Around was meh. Seems like Al can't get these lactose IPAs right. White Bronco isn't all that good either.

-Last time I was there I just had beers from Tired Hands. High Road was excellent and I got a crowler of Rustic Pentagram. Extremely surprised to see Alien Church still on tap. Last time Al had it, it got kicked within a day.

-I'm tempted to grab a growler of SACCHAROLICIOUS SAISON next time I'm there. At $10 for a 64 oz, you can't really beat it. Plus, I'm a sucker for a hoppy saison.

My favorite part about Al's is the $1.50 slices of pizza an hour before closing.

Not refuting anything necessarily, but Peach Around has been on for some time. Might be getting a little long in the tooth.

While we're here.... anybody notice the pricing for the latest two sours? Haven't been there since they've released them.

I was there on Sunday. I believe I saw $25?

I'd love if they would can Low Hanging Fruit, Sour Frontside Lipslide and a lot of these other sour IPAs they've done. A 16oz can is much more easily consumable than a 750mL bomber

Makes sense, 22-30 have been the going rate lately. Wonder if these were carbed? I didn't see the hashtag that called attention to the past failures on that front, but didn't look too hard.

I hear you on Low Hanging Fruit and Sour Frontside, but those beers are drastically different than the long term barrel aged sours they're doing in the 750s. I don't even want to consider rocking those in cans, mainly for self preservation and finances, but also the 750 is just a cool way to drink those type of beers.

Al said they were addressing the carb issues on an IG post talking about how theyre working on next year's Permasmile's. Not sure about these though.

I agree. An apples to oranges comparison I guess. I understand that the sour/farmhouse ale programs at a lot of breweries are a sense of pride and thus, are specially released in bombers. I just wish more breweries did sour IPAs in cans like Hudson Valley does. I guess stuff like Tastees and JREAMS are cool but those might as well fall under the same category as stouts for me as "you drink one and you're done"

I'm just glad Al keeps his crowler/growler fills reasonably priced for the most part. I think the Bartlett Kiminski is back on tap too. Another good way, like the Sour FSLS, to get wasted really quick

Maybe they are addressing it on Instagram for next year, but that sure doesn’t help people who spent $30 a bottle for flat blueberry vinegar. Luckily, I only bought two and had a gift card to cover most of it. Probably the most annoying aspect was them not getting out in front of it and then basically shrugging when told about it.

If your goal is to get wasted really quick, there’s probably better, cheaper options than Sour Frontside. Best of luck in your quest.

I would have been pretty upset if I dropped $30 on a 750ml and it was that awful

I had a bottle of Juliet from I think 2016 that I drank over the holidays last year that came out very vinegar like

Fortunately, a buddy picked it up for $8

Stopping by later to pickup a case of the Super Tight. $50 a case for a tasty, crushable session ipa? can't beat it, wish more breweries made these on a regular basis. Funk's Sassy was very very good

Came here to post this very thing. I hadn't had it before so tried it on draft first. Walked out with a $50 case. Not the best session I've had but definitely up there and better than any of the wide distro sessions I've had. Based on the Untappd ratings and early photos I'm thinking they tweaked this at some point. This will be perfect for my camping trip in a couple weeks.
