$30 at the brewery for all of the barrel aged stuff they're released so far.

What part of PA are you in & where did you see them? The bottleshop I work for had the Abascios for $45 a piece, but we're in SWPA & had to "self-import" them, which always ratchets up the price.

Where and which ones if you don't mind telling. I think Tommy's had the Golden Sour at one time for $30.

Saw bottles in York for $28. Someone explain how 2 steps down the dist. chain this is cheaper than at the source? Kind of disappointing for the supporters of Pizza Boy that lined up before dawn and paid $31.80 per bottle. Granted not everything available that day (most didn't) went to dist., but all the same. To add insult to injury, a week after the Pizza Boy Sour release some Cascade showed up in York for $32 a bottle out the door. Pizza Boy sours are good, but they're not Cascade class yet.

If they aren't cascade class yet then I think they will greatly disappoint me......(as I feel cascade are good but not amazing..)

It's not about being two steps down the distribution chain. They do it this way so they are not cutting the throat of those who are helping them sell their beer. Think about it, why would I take up my shelf space in my store to help you sell your product when you are selling the same thing for a few dollars less down the road.

Just be happy your seeing the low end pricing in your neck of the woods.
$40 is downright egregious. Hell, $30 is a big stretch too IMO.

Not to detract from this thread but there is another release today at Pizza Boy. Terry is releasing Future Primitive under his fiance and his label Intangible Ales. Its a farmhouse pale at $10 per 750ml and Pizza Boy just put Eternal Sunshine a dry hopped golden sour on the shelf in bombers for $10 per.

100% the reason. The brewery never wants to undercut the distributors. There is a local brewery a few towns over from me whose growler prices are higher than the bar across the street from them that also sells their beer. Can't be mad at the brewery...it's just the way the system is set up.

Those prices sound crazy but I did just drop 12 bucks on an almanac sour and 20 bucks for a rr supplication both of which are around 12 oz bottles. Sour game is definately a pocket burner.
