Picking a friend up from the UK at LAX and then driving to Long Beach. I always like stopping at Naja's, but wondering what others favorite stops might be. And you don't need to mention the obvious thing that Beachwood is in Long Beach, because they will be gotten to during the visit. Also, no need to name places all over LA that are far off the direct path of taking the 405 down to the 710. This is just for a quick stop for some food and a couple of beers, but want to make it unique enough for somebody from the UK. Was also thinking that a decent tap room/food truck combo might work. This would be Friday night, around 8:00 or so.

I like stopping for a growler fill at El Segundo Brewing whenever I have to go to LAX. They might have some food being served inside on a Friday night, but nothing too big (think tacos etc).

Smog City or Monkish? Dunno their food situations though.

I like Mediterraneo on the Hermosa pier, especially if they have PTE on tap as they frequently do. Tapas style food is really good also.

El Segundo Brewing Co. You have Rock n Brew's right across the street. But $$'s. I would stop at Big Mikes on Main St about 200' on the right before you get to ESBC. Some of the best Philly Cheesesteak sandwich in town. You can take it with you to ESBC. Don't forget the only stop is Beachwood LB, and you also got Congregational Ale House next to BWLB. A good selection of Belgium Ales. There's also a Rock n Brews inside Tom Bradley terminal. But again, $$$!

Maybe Cinco by LAX. Decent tap list. Or there's a Swiss place by LAX (sorry I forget the name) that yelps well.

Edelwiess - curious every time I go to the airport to stop, but have never. Agreed with El Segundo.

Also, the Sheraton Four Points right by lax has brewsters bar which actually has a very good tap list for a hotel. I believe you can view their tap list online.

But very pricey. Get there during happy hour.

Due south about 1.5 miles is Whole Foods El Segundo - nice tap area and usually a few decent selections available. Yes it's a grocery store, but it's quick and parking is easy. I've stopped there pre-flight more than once.

Thanks for the suggestions. Both Smog City and El Segundo were each already considerations, but wanted to hear what others said. Probably one of those.
