Plan Bee - The Hive 2016

Damn cant wait. Karnl is prob my favorite Plan Bee beer--looking forward to seeing what Evan does here

 

Yep, Broadway Dive. My bad. Fortunately space didn't seem like too much of a problem, at least when I was there.

 

It was too far for me. I'm hoping another LES bar or somewhere in Brooklyn where I live. Possibly Owl Farm or Mission Dolores. St Gambrinus

 

Dive was my first pick up and I liked it because it had Grimm Liquid Crystal on tap and the other places in the city I usually frequent ran out of it.

 

I would sacrifice baby goats in adoration and joy if the next pickup were in Brooklyn.

 

Mark your calendar, below is the bottle release schedule for the bottle shop!

• Wild Mountain Honey (will be released today @ 5pm) - all Hudson Valley floor malt & Stone House Farms raw wheat. 60lbs of raw local honey. Very dry & juicy, with a light tang, tropical fruit, citrus, & floral honey aromas & flavors. Completely suited for the warm days to come!

• Karnij (release 4/25/16 @ 5pm) - a dark wild ale with 400lbs of Mead Orchards Tart Balaton Cherries briefly aged in Hillrock Estate Distillery Double Rye barrels. NY organic Rye, Wheat, & Barley were custom roasted & cold steeped to maintain a lot of dark chocolate, nutty, & coffee aromas. It's very reminiscent of a tart chocolate-covered cherry with subtle Rye Whiskey notes.

• Narcissus (release 4/29/16 @ 5pm) - a blend of old and new beer. A couple older barrels were blended with some new beer to provide a light & tart spring beer.

Narcissus sold out super quick. I wasn't able to buy any extra bottles for the first time

 

Damn! I didn't even get on because I thought it would sit for a while. Fuck!

 

I did the same. The alert popped up on my phone and I just ignored it and figured I would order extras sometime this weekend like I've done for all the other releases. Must have been a small yield

 

Got caught up in work and forgot to order. Womp.

 

I got the reminder twice too! Thought the exact same thing. Weird world we're in where Karnij is still available and Narcissus is long gone. I guess I'll just buy extras of others with the money I would have spent on Narcissus. Haha.

And I'll bring some New Mexico goods and try to trade one of y'all when I get to NY in June so I can try the Narcissus.

 

Damn did someone buy like 50 bottles?

 

Does anyone happen to know how many bottles there are of these various brews? Do they post that anywhere?

I find it hard to believe there were less bottles of Narcissus than Karnij. Just guessing though.

 

Emily had told me there were around 700 bottles of Nectar put up for sale on the site so I was thinking each beer on the newer brew system would have around that but apparently not. No way that many were bought that quick.

She just sent out an email that she forgot to add it to the store super small yield though. Only reason I caught it was because i was emailing since I thought my name was accidentally on the pick up list. Turns out someone with the same last name is into Plan Bee. I feel like it we meet some sort of rift in the universe will open.

 

Nice. Got a couple bottles. Buy quick. Email said 160 total. That's whale status. Haha.

 

Are you guys saying you paid for the membership but can't get any bottles. I'm close to this place and would like to try their brew but i'm confused how it works.
