Plan Bee - The Hive 2016

Info was just released. I'm most excited about the first two, especially the black currant variant.

• Currant (red wax): Indicated by the wax tops, we are sending you a pair of currant sours. The red wax is exclusively red currants harvested at CurrantC Farm. It is bright & light, very tart, w/ berry notes.
• Currant (black wax): The black wax is exclusively black currants harvested at CurrantC Farm. Funky, tropical, and dark red in color. Our favorite beer of 2016!
• Pepper: A blend of 8 peppers that we grew on the farm this year including: habanero, jalapeño, ghost, thai, cherry bomb, cayenne, hot portugal, & tabasco. A light and tart base support a spicy wile ale with many pepper nuances.

 

The above is December.

This is November:

• Melon - a wild ale brewed with local honey dew, sugar baby watermelons, and cantaloupe.

• Beets - a barrel aged sour fermented on local beets, a brilliant deep red, balanced with bright tartness and sweet, earthy beet.

• Tiny Acorn - our table beer for Thanksgiving! Acorn squash, lemongrass, coriander and wild carrot seed.

I never received anything re: November or December.

 

Yea, no e-mails were sent out for November or December bottles. That's why I asked.

...and no clue where the Currant (red), Currant (black) and Pepper info was listed but thanks for posting it.

The info for the November bottles came from a Plan Bee e-mail on 11/30. If you're a Hive member first check your SPAM, promotions, and clutter folders and if you don't find it then e-mail Emily to verify you're on the list.

 

Weird, I got 2 emails from them on the 30th, but neither were about the November bottles.

 

I think I was the guilty party who bugged Emily a couple of days ago about November bottles and triggered her to send the e-mail yesterday. A few bottles weren't necessarily released in the originally planned month -- Pepper and the two versions of Currant were November, while Beets, Tiny Acorn, and Bouquet Echinacea (I think I spelled that right) were October -- I'm sure of those because I just picked them up yesterday. Melon was in September (not October).

 

Bump. Anybody going to the party this coming Saturday?

 

Hitting Suarez first to see what they're all about and then I'll be stopping by for the party afterwards. Should be interesting to finally be in the barn for an extended period of time.

 

I wish I could make the party, but EBF is calling my name.
