I think Arky (awesome user name, by the way -- any relation?) is correct -- but BM me if you have any other questions. I think a few folks we both know were considering the Hive but decided it was too big a commitment, some of them may want to split a membership with you.

    Hello Hive!

With the weather and some paperwork issues, we are a little behind schedule for delivering bottles by the end of January. I was wondering, would it be a problem with anyone if we moved the 6 month Hive membership back one month? Here is how it would break out:

    Original dates: 1/1/16-5/30/16
New dates: 2/1/16-6/30/16 (all bottles must be picked up before 7/30/16)

This way, I will charge the first months bottles or the total upfront (for those that are paying upfront for all 6 months) on February 1st, 2016. We are currently working with some bars in NYC for the first drop off of bottles for the end of February. The way the drop off will work is we will have a tasting/event at a bar and during the 5-6 hours we are there you can drop in to pick up your bottles. I will send the details once they are solidified.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we expand our operation. We really appreciate the opportunity you have given us and we are working hard to bring you some delicious brews! We couldn't survive with out the Hive!!

    Have a great week,
    Emily

NYC bottle drop offs paired with a tap takeover/plan bee event. Niiiiice :sunglasses:

Just came here to post that same update @MosaicDrops. Yeah the tasting events sound like a good plan, and probably much more affordable whatever NYC GreenMarket booth space costs.

I'm looking forward to the next update and the finished products!

Glad that @Fahmie25 alerted me to this. Joined the Hive a couple days back. Super excited. Love Plan Bee.

"We are excited to say we have 3 styles of beer that will be ready by the end of February for pick up which include a quince sour ale, nectarine sour ale, and a tart blended sour ale and cider (with wild apples from our farm). I am in the process of securing a NYC pick up at One Mile House located at 10 Delancey Street for Saturday, Feb. 27th or Sunday the 28th. As soon as I get the green light, I will pass this information along."

So Swarm members should be getting emails about when bottles are available for purchase on the website?

I would think that would happen once they have their online shop up and running, since to my knowledge, nobody has paid the $25 membership for Swarm yet.

Or, I didn't get that email to do that and am a sad panda.

Ah that's right, we haven't had to pay that fee yet

One would hope so, though the e-mails say, "will be ready", so those 3 batches may not all be bottled yet. Until they do, they may not know exactly how much they have to offer to Swarm members. Similarly, since the Hive memberships haven't been charged yet it's possible someone might cancel, or upgrade from 6 to 12 bottle subscription. That said, hopefully Emily will get in touch with Swarm folks soon .

does anyone know why the Swarm membership ends on 6/30? And, if this keeps getting pushed back whether that end date is now being pushed back?

I'll be flying to Costa Rica on 2/27 so that's at least one month I'm out for. Oh well, will have an extra Imperial instead.

    Hello Swarm members!

We hope your year has gotten off to a great start! We are in the final stages here of getting the new brewery up and running. Unfortunately, as it so often happens with construction, the final stages are taking longer than we expected. We’re now waiting for the plumbing team licensed to work with steam fitting to hook everything up. They hope to be finished by mid-February. It’s frustrating to be looking at all this beautiful new equipment just waiting to be filled up with beer… but as they say patience is a virtue.

Evan is, as you can imagine, very eager to get to work and has been brewing on our old system the past few weeks to ensure we will have beer available in the online bottle shop. We will soon be putting two items in the store:
    1. Quince - a barrel aged blended sour ale made with fresh quince harvested from Fishkill Farms
    2. CrossPollination - a collaboration beer with Newburgh Brewing Co with 100% NY ingredients - Flower City malt, rose hips and red grape must. We split this batch and we fermented ours in house honey yeast and Newburgh fermented theirs in their house yeast. We are selling these bottles in pairs only so you can taste the difference. Sold only in pairs of 500mL, one of each of the batches.
I am in the process of securing a NYC pick up at One Mile House located at 10 Delancey Street for Saturday, Feb. 27th or Sunday the 28th. As soon as I get the green light, I will pass this information along. Remember, there are no minimum pick ups required and you can pick up at the farm in Poughkeepsie by appointment or at the Cold Spring farmers market.

In anticipation of the bottle shop opening in a few weeks, please take a few minutes to pay the $25 membership fee before February 22nd by following this link:

Where did this come from? The email I received ^ (I'm a Swarm member) listed just Cross Poll and Quince. I'm wondering if different bottles are being released for the Hive than the Swarm? It sounded like the Hive got 3 exclusive bottles/mags, just wondering if Hive and Swarm are getting the same bottles this time?

The Quince Sour Ale looks like it's being offered to both memberships. Hive membership says at least 3 exclusive brews, but I read that as over the 6 months. You're It may be the Nectarine & Cider blends are 2 of the 3, or that one/both will be offered to Swarm members a month after Hive gets them? Just a guess and we may have to wait and see.

Perhaps the Blended Cider and Nectarine Sours are smaller batches, so there won't be any available for sale after the Hive membership allocations are filled. That is just my speculation, though.

You are correct--Emily informed me that the cider was limited and the nectarines were a last minute thing/limited as well.
