Hey Dave, did you say the Mill Street brewing location was at or near the big complex that has a Modell's on the north end and a super market and Michael's on the south? East side of route 9? I know you mentioned it before but can't quite recall what you said. Do you know what kind of beers they will be focusing on?

Also any info you have on the other 3 would be pretty juicy to hear if you feel like sharing.

    No, Mill Street Brewing

will be off the west arterial I believe, in Poughkeepsie, haven't visited in years since it was open as Mill Street Panda. They are getting their equipt. next week I think, I am drooling thinking of the PKW setup my friends are going to work with. Jamie and Larry make killer Kolsch, American Stout, and Black Ale, but Jamie is a genius with any style he tries.

Another spot is on 9 in Wappinger Falls, it got final approval, and will be located in what was FunTime Arcade, for those who know it, a perfect location, and is a joint venture between Alan Daniels of Half Time and Adam Watson of Sloop, who is a great person and great brewer. My friend Tom has gotten approval for his nano to be located in a building on his property, no name yet, which is off Spackenkill, and I hope to be helping him set it up at the end of this summer. Another two are due to open in Beacon, one is on 9D, that is all I know, and that they have put in large grain orders already at my LHBS, the other I have even less info. about. And Bacchus in New Paltz is up and running a house system, and just put some bottles for sale at K&E in New Paltz, very small batches of bottles at this point. There are rumors of a couple more in planning stage right now. Good times for the Mid Hud Val.

Awesome, thanks for the info buddy! My folks live in Milton so you know every visit will have a fun and seems like, new, beer component to it!

Also thanks for the heads up about Bacchus, had no idea they had so many nice offerings and were brewing themselves.

Do you know about Micsin? Started by BA rwmiscik and his partner, will be opening in Lafayette village in NJ before long, I think they are really interested in doing sours/barrel aged stuff/not run of the mill brews. About an hour southwest of Rushing Duck, hour west of Ramapo/Suffern. Excited to see what they will be doing. Just got their zoning permit approved.

I live one town over from Milton. My nearest main road is Milton Turnpike. Small world.

No info on Micsin, but more good beer is always a good thing.

I heard Bacchus is not all that great yet, but this is second hand info, haven't tried their beer yet.

Hope to see you after Aug. 7 (my updated date to be able to drink beer again) so we can hoist a few.

Hey Dave, hope your okay and if its health issues that have you on hold with beer that they are soon a thing of the past.

We actually met at the top hops bottle share - not the last one, believe it was fall 2012, and talked about the proximity of your place and my folks, who I visit fairly frequently. Maybe we can hang up there in the call sometime. I'm three batches into my homebrewing career so maybe I can pick your brain about that a bit too.

Great article about Rushing Duck, good terse descriptions of the beers as well, a couple good pics.

This beer is not a sour. Brett doesn't sour beers. This beer is tart because of the wheat and funky because of the brett. Hence the name....

Calling it tart is pretty generous... a mildly funky wheat beer. Hopefully age will help this one develop.

I finally had this the other night at Growler & Gill. Really good beer. I wish I had a bottle of this to cellar to see how it develops
