Is this beer hard to find in the philly area? This is my first year searching for it and I've only seen it at a few bars downtown. I'm wondering if I can find it in 4 packs instead of per bottle.

    Thanks

Really? I've heard good things. What makes it a let down in your opinion?

I enjoyed it quite a bit last year, although I wasn't able to locate it on Long Island this year.

Beeryard in Wayne got some cases in a couple days ago as well. And to each his own, but in my opinion, it is indeed worth seeking out.

Got a couple bottles a few weeks ago, went to a bottle share, it was well liked and appreciated, the beer that stole the show was a 2012 bottle of Big John, that was delicious...also had that day were and Alpha King, ehh, Foothills February pretty good, Foothills Jade, wow love it, can't get enough, Plead the 5th, better than Founders Imperial, then a Big John, so good, and lastly a Pisgah bbl Vortex, really weak, had a non bbl Vortex II a month or so before and it was awesome, not sure how a bbl version gets thinner and weaker, but this one did.

This beer is extremely well-received on BA, scoring a 96 with 2200+ ratings: http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1471/45073/
Personally, I enjoy the beer tremendously when I had it on draft. It's one of the best non-BA stouts that is rotating and isn't all that difficult to find.

OP, Northern Liberties Beer has them for $5.25/ea. Suburb stores are cheaper for sure. Call your local bottle shops to ask.

Abe's Cold Beer had some in Bethlehem on Tuesday. Don't know if it's still there or not.

Also, it's on deck on Good Dog draft list. Could hit this weekend. I would expect that it will replace Sucaba or Heresy, which are both currently on tap.

They're available pretty much everywhere in Philly by now. Craft Beer Outlet in Northeast Philly had an abundance, and I even saw them out in Ardmore at the Ardmore Beer Shoppe.
