So I'm drinkin some avery new world porter and say to myself, "Damn, those are some juicy hops!". I know it says on the bottle that it's a "black ipa", but for a beer with "porter" in the name the "black" is really overshadowed (at least for my pallette) by the "ipa". But it's not a bad thing. It's a pleasant surprise. So what are some beers that you expected to tasted one way and ended up tasting another way, in a good way? (Man, that's a lot of ways).
Beer Here Dark Hops is supposed to be a black IPA but it tasted more like a highly hopped stout. I loved it.
