I've never taped, banded, or bagged any bubble wrap, and in 50+ trades, I've never had a single bottle break. If you pack the wrapped bottles tightly enough, with enough packing to fill the empty space in the box, there's no way they're going to unwrap. My very first trader set me straight on this point early on.

I usually don't use anything to bind it. Like Jay (above), I typically pack my boxes tight enough that it's not necessary.

However, when I do use anything, it's a rubber band. Tape can be very annoying, and can tear up the bubble wrap.

I work in a body shop and have endless supply of tape....so I use tape on EVERYTHING. However I also tend to use the nice thick closed cell foam that our replacement bumpers get dropped off in. Tape comes off that stuff easy and it works not only as a bottle protector, but also as a noise reducer. I suppose I will have to make up for your inconvenience with more/better extras.

As an example of the dangers of too much tape - I was using a pair of scissors to attack the tape on some Heady I received last month when "wooooosh/hissss" There is no such thing as a bad Heady, but shotgunning a warm Heady in your own kitchen is not my preferred method of consumption.

I fear that has more to do with the user and scissors than the tape. No offense.

You also could have poured it into a glass instead of shotgunning it (then put the glass in an ice water bath, get it at least down to drinkable temp in about 90 seconds) ... again, this seems to reflect more upon the user. No offense.

"attacking" may have been a poor method of choice :grinning:
