    I am still very new here, and by no means am wanting to argue, but I like the "hads" as an easy way to keep track of what I have tried. Rating them is secondary, and I just haven't felt like diving into full blown reviews...probably because I'm afraid they would sound like what you're railing against, no offense intended.

    You only accept the best but you think Hooters has great food? Now I just think you're trolling.

    I was actually kind of suggesting that you were trolling with this whole thing... But, fine on the joke.

    I just think everyone has a right to their own opinion about what's an acceptable destination for obtaining the beer they like. Why does it matter to you if they got beer at Buffalo Wild Wings? If you don't feel as though the review is relevant to you then it's more than simple to just skip to the next one.

    If you think everyone has a right to their opinion, great, but reviews should meet basic guidelines in which this does not by BA standards.
    appearance = 5%
    The first step. note the beer's colour, carbonation, head and its retention -- not the label or appearance of the bottle.

    smell = 20%
    Now bring the beer to your nose. note the beer's aromatic qualities.

    taste = 45%
    Take a deep sip of the beer. note any flavours, or interpretations of flavours, that you might discover. do they fit the style?

    mouthfeel = 10%
    Take another sip. note how the beer feels on the palate. too light? too heavy? smooth? coarse?

    overall = 20%
    Your overall impression of the beer.

    Secondly,
    According to the Bros beer places must be beer centric. I was joking on the Hooters as I compare Hooters to BWW when it comes to beer. Three beers at BWW does not make a place beer centric. Sorry. But, yes, I stick to the rules and guidelines.

    If I am wrong for sticking to guidelines please report me to the Bros.

    I think that's a common problem with the NW folks. I think that's why I like living here. We are also adept at derailing threads which makes ours the best beer region in the country.

    I agree, I'm learning how to review the beers and my palate is growing. The 'had' feature is a good way to put down to what degree you like something, quick reference if you want to go back and review it later

    Beer centric, what? I didn't say anything about the rating system and it doesn't matter where you drink the beer. I could review a beer while taking a dump, pretty sure the shitter is not beer centric...although now I am probably going to make mine beer centric.

    I don't see the problem here...

    Also, I feel bad that you have nothing better to do than complain about someone's review

    I get the OP's point but we live in a country of free speech. If you don't like it, move on and stop making a deal of it.

    The guidelines for reviewing a beer are as you stated them. But they mention nothing at all about describing the place where you bought or drank the beer.

    The guidelines for reviewing a *place* do talk about a place being beer centric to even be entered into the database with a review.

    Since one of the reviews that offends you is a beer review that mentions a place but is not a place review there's no need to be concerned about whether the place the person bought the beer was beer centric or not.

    I doubt that. Don't be a snobby dick.

    If you love beer you know it doesn't matter who's pouring it, as long as the price is fair, the beer is fresh, the lines are clean and the bar staff doesn't need a drool handkerchief.

    Fortunate for you. Some family members and I went to the BWW in downtown Akron last Christmas. Nothing worth paying for on tap. No Great Lakes, no Stone, no Bells, nothing but Bud, Bud Light, Coors, Coors Light, Miller, Miller Lite, Bud Select, yadayadayada. The only beers close to craft were Guinness, an unimpressive Widmer and something else I can't remember. A few mediocre bottled craft but I don't pay premium prices for bottled beers I can drink at home. We left without drinking anything, since the purpose of our visit was to have a glass of good beer.

    The BWW's are all going to be different. The one near me, had on tap (in addition to all macros), last time I was there

    Victory Hop Devil
    Troegs Sunshine Pils
    Sam Adams Lager
    Sam Adams Octoberfest
    Great Lakes Octoberfest
    Southern Tier Creme Brûlée
    East end Belgian Witte

    Definitely a solid selection.

    I have no problem with using "hads" to keep track of beers you've tried, but the problem comes in when the ratings attached to them influence the overall score/rating of a beer just as much as a well thought out, well written review by someone who obviously took the time and effort to contribute more to the site. Note: I don't review either, so I don't look down on others who don't.

    Neither of the reviews quoted by Mr Fiend remotely follow the BA reviewing guidelines he later quotes, which is more the problem than the mention of BWW.

    Though I am enjoying the BWW bashing.

    I managed A Buffalo wild wings but we had the old "BWWW" phone number. We had corperate requirments but I always tried to get some "craft" or import. I ordered in Anchor Steam and the beer rep tried to talk me out if it.
