Bad bottle shop. A decent bottle shop should sell it for $6.49 or less.

Correct. Vinnie will pull Pliny from accounts for price gouging. I can't imagine someone selling it for 10.99 for very long.

At my local its between 4.79 and 7. I've seen it as high as 10. Maybe Mrs Vinnie Russian River needs to investigate.

I saw $10 once, reported it and they no longer stock it. =P I felt like a dick for reporting them to RR, but no reason they should be allowed to take advantage of others.

I get why people have the point of view that any price inflation like this "takes advantage of the customer." If that one store was a monopoly, perhaps the only store within 200 miles and it was charging people $10 for Pliny, then yes that's taking advantage.

But this store is not taking advantage of anyone. The people who pay the $10 know what Pliny is, and they chose to pay this. I believe it's because a certain segment of craft beer drinkers today have a complex in which if they aren't drinking a Pliny, or a Hill Farmstead, or a Maine Lunch with certain regularity they feel inferior because they aren't impressing their social media following, or I imagine in fewer cases, their friends. That does involve a very high proportion of people on this website, most of whom would be in denial. Anyway, that's my argument as to why it's purely the fault of craft beer drinkers of today's age for paying $10 a bottle for Pliny.

Honestly, I have no problem paying/trading $10 for a bottle of Pliny any day...point being is that it's not readily available (in Ohio) so I get it when I can. Hats off to the community here when trading $4$. That's what it's all about...
