I'm really curious where you're getting PtE for $4.19 in HB.

I'm guessing the store doesn't have an account, and paid retail for them, ergo the markup. Stores with accounts (usually) know better not to risk their accounts which are hard to come by.

My guess is Stone Liquor. They've sold HT for $15/can in the past.
Reference: I'd never had it at the time, and I needed a ticket to board the hype train. It was well worth it for a first time, but never again.

That's the lowest I remember at the LiquorWarehouseHB
Not sure what's the current price since I live in Redlands now

Even Whole Foods that is on par with the most expensive doesn't mark it up that much. In fact, the Whole Foods near me is the cheapest price on PtE and Blind Pig at $5.49 each.

OP: As a non CA resident i usually fork over whatever they're asking when I find it. Ive paid $7 - 12 bottle over the years and as much as $16 on draft.
As far as i can tell you didnt really over pay

How much did you enjoy it? $16 worth? If yes, your screwage % goes down. However, at any level of enjoyment sub-climatic euphoria I say the screwage-o-meter was at about 30-40%.

It's been a while since my last visit to LW but it was at 3.99 for the longest time back in the days and they increased it to $4.19. That was maybe over a year ago.

Please note the OP replied that she did not pay $16 for the PtE, but $8. While the former is a crime that should be punishable by death, the latter is only worthy of castration.

Wally's Wine's in LA wanted $8 for PtE too! Whole Foods is around $4.50 I think.
