If anyone is still looking, I saw Pliny and Blind Pig bottles at The Good Life in Raymond, ME and both beers were on tap at Standard Gastropub in Bridgton, ME yesterday.
Didnt read the whole thread but your most consistent spot is WF in Portland. Idk if they hoard or VL doesnt wanna list them or something. But they have Pliny and BP and sometimes a 3rd purrty often.
Bier Cellar just posted another drop, which means RR is back in Maine. Any South Berwick area folks that could give me a sense of how long this lasts at their Nature's Way store?
Was stoked to finally have a Portland visit line up with one of these drops. Went with your advice @brother_rebus and hit Whole Foods. There was still plenty in the cooler
Shot over to Carls Meat in Kittery to peak. They had a drop of Veil and can confirm she has a few cases of Pliny in stock currently. You just have to ask about. I grabbed my one bottle and said I know some folks who might want the rest. She came out offering me four bottle 2 in each hand ha. I told her how kind she was but share the wealth.
Like @Jbrews I found some Russian River at Carl's. Grabbed a Pliny and grabbed a Happy Hops (which I'd never had and was delightful). Had to grab some lobsters, too, while I was in Maine -- as if I don't live within driving distance. Edit: Look at how disgusting that 8% double IPA looks! No haze. Transparent. I bet there's zero flavor.
Now if we can only get a drop of the -ion series. Intinction came around at some point, but I think that was it and maybe like two years ago.
This is why Tributary is a mainstay for us. Though, to quote Todd in a conversation we had 2 weeks ago about his IPA. “Almost, clear beer my friend” which made me laugh. He’s one of the nicest and most enthusiastic people I’ve ever met. Going back to the Portsmouth Brewery days and his love of his ales. God bless his Harpoon IPA
Found some Pliny at Bow Street Market in Freeport yesterday. Still had a bunch left. It’s in the walk in cooler.
Pliny on tap currently at Freeport Oyster Bar. Drinking very very well. Oysters tasting pretty good too.
Some friends brought me there this afternoon. I totally forgot about this thread. Picked up some Notch and Maine Beer shit. Happened to swoop by the beer cooler one more time and spotted them. Glorious.
Velvet Glow may be the best beer I’ve drank in 2025. I used my Pliny budget on it instead. Zero regrets.
