It sounds like from previous threads that PtE only shows up in distro occasionally and is very limited. The Oregon distributor's website lists several stores in Medford and Ashland (those are the only two towns that I recognize in southern OR) where they deliver RR beer, but I'm curious if those stores would also get PtE. (Ashland: Ashland Food Coop; Liquid Assets; Market of Choice; and Shop n Kart. Medford: Beerworks; Four Daughters Irish Pub; and Harry & David Country Store) Are there any BAs who live in or near these communities who can give me advice. I'll be visiting my daughter in 5 weeks, so she may have time between now and then to search out these places. (Or any other tips of where to look.) Thanks for your help.

There have been some posts in the past that seem to indicate that on occasion, a bar in the area will get in a keg of Pliny. Bottles are another matter, but even assuming the answer is yes, your odds are not good. Eugene (where I live) gets a very limited number of bottles of pliny from time to time (once a month at most), but they rarely last throughout the day. For instance, last time 16 tons got in a case (all they're ever allocated), they just put the entire case on the counter rather than bothering to put in on the shelf. That's how fast it sells.

My point being that even if some store in Ashland or Medford got in a case of Pliny, unless you (or your daughter) just happened to be in town on the day it arrived, odds are you're not going to find any languishing on the shelf. That being said, it might not hurt to have her call around to some of the stores you've listed. If they do get in bottles of pliny, don't be surprised if there is purchase limit (as there typically is here), and don't be surprised if your daughter needs to hustle right on over to the store on the day they get delivery.

    Good luck.

I found it on tap and in bottles in Pacific City. It was at a wine place however. Best night of my life when I found it. I cant get it in Washington at all. :slight_frown:

Its a very good DIPA but I don't get why its so worshiped, there are so many DIPAs that are just as good and better. Just a friendly reminder to hopefully not have you be disappointed when you finally get it and it has been built up so damn high that you are bummed out when its not liquid gold like others led you to believe.....To me, your really not missing out on much if you never get any of it, your only missing out on trying a beer that is so talked about in the craft beer community. Most ignorant Pliny comment that I have ever heard "I love pliny! *couple sentences later* "I dont like IPAs" LOL what a band wagoner! But my suggestion is to call any establishment that sells it, find out what day it shows up out of the week and ask them when you should call time wise in the day to ask if they got it, repeat every week and then when it shows up hustle yourself on down there and get some! Good luck sir!
