I can't wait! I'll be there Thursday for it. Flying in from Chicago.

So for those that have sampled this year's batch, any comments?

This was my first time getting the Younger, so I admit to have no reference frame to previous years, but I loved it. The beer was obviously very bitter (which was exactly what I was looking for), with Idaho 7 being quite prominent, and full bodied. I couldn't taste alcohol at all, even having it at 11 am, so that was the scary part. I did what somebody here has suggested, and had it back-to-back with the Elder, and it's amazing how watery and small the Elder tastes in comparison. The one knock (sort-of) against the Younger would be the smell: nice aroma but weaker than expected for something so big. Overall I am quite happy with my decision to wait in the morning line. Cheers!

This is only my second year having it, so I can only compare to last years. Last year I was blown away at how hoppy it was without any hint of malty sweetness. This year I would still say it was the best triple I have had, but it was not better than last year for me. At this point its splitting hairs, but IMO this years batch had a hint of that sweetness on the finish whereas last year it was a dry dank finish. Still an excellent beer and at an hour and forty-five wait, it was totally worth the chance to try it.

Awesome! Did they have any special old bottles when you were there? On Friday they were selling Consecration from 2010 (that thing was freaking awesome), and I was told that yesterday was supposed to be the 2010 Benediction.

They had the 2010 consecration and 2015 Beat.

Did you try the Beat? To be completely honest I personally couldn't pick up any sweetness on Friday, though maybe its just a lack of perspective. You got me thinking now though. Might try to stop by RR on a weeknight next week again, depending on the lines then.

If the last few years are any indication, the oc will be:
    Some stupid shit at haven
Random keg at pizza port San climente (follow their twitter)
Long line at hollingshead on presidents day
Tustin brewing random keg and ticket sales for later that day
Anthill pub ticket sales then come back another day for the beer
    Beachwood pliny fights cancer drawing
Slemas in rsm will have a pint/t-shirt deal

Does Selma’s RSM do tickets and a pint? I went to selma’s ladera years ago and they did tickets at $15 for the shirt and like 6 ozs, which was lame. Heard Selams RSM will have blind pig and elder during the younger release.

I think it was a smaller pour. I'm in Costa mesa so I didn't drive down there to try and get any.

Any SD folks, what's the place to get some? I assume Toronado, anywhere else?

I expect at least one person to say skip it and go to <fill in the brewery> instead
