Hamilton's, Toro, Blind Lady (likely ticketed for charity), O'Brien's (usually does 3-4 different tappings, 1 ticketed for charity, 1 announced, the other 2 whenever the fuck they feel like it), Tiger!Tiger!, Stone (typically 3-5 tappings...most are unannounced), Small Bar, I think Pizza Ports, Urge (at least in Rancho), sometimes Livewire, Churchills, Neighborhood, and my favorite Encinitas Ale House (ticketed, buy one weekend, return the next and exchange ticket for pint, they sell less tickets than there are pours available so the next day typically a monday, they just do ticketless until it kicks).

Also...goto Societe for Miser, assuming they made it again, instead. =P

Do they get multiple kegs of younger there?

Just curious, as I thought the SF Toronado and Monk's in Philly were the only places to get more than a single keg.

Unless they somehow make a single keg last for almost 2 weeks, they definitely have gotten multiple kegs previous years.

I’m sure there are several spots that get more than one keg. I believe Stone Escondido gets 3 being the size they are. And don’t they distribute Stones cases? They’ll be plenty of spots to get a pour or not. Just depends on you and how much you want it? I’m sitting on 2 raffles from BW. If I win or not. No biggie. I’ve already got my tipa fix for 2018.

Understood. I realize my question sounded a bit crazy, but we actually do have a taphouse up here in PDX that (I've heard) pulls their keg of PtY off and on. So it occurred to me that just possibly O'Brien's might be doing something like that.

I realize O'Brien's is a quality beer bar, and so was unlikely to engage in that kind of behavior. (I was fortunate enough to visit once during a SoCal visit some years back), However, I was just very, very surprised that they would get 4 kegs (at least) of PtY.

Why would you be so surprised? O'Brien's has a pretty long standing relationship with RR and have other at least one other big event featuring their beer every year.

So do many other places, so I'm not sure I understand why you feel that's relevant.

As I mentioned, I had heard/read in previous posts that only the SF Toronado and Monk's (philly) got more than a single keg, which was why I was surprised to hear about O'Brien's.

At least back in SEPA and here in Oregon, it's a big deal to get a keg of PtY, with far more places wanting a keg than actually receive one. When I lived on the East Coast, everyone sort of understood why Monk's received special treatment (given their longstanding relationship with RR), but I feel confident in saying that if any other beer bar in town received more than a single keg, there would have been screams of outrage.

Given the demand and limited supply of kegs, I've always heard that local distributors do their utmost to distribute kegs as equitably as possible, with no place getting more than a single keg (as to do otherwise might short some other deserving account).

Hence my surprise when I heard about O'Brien's. I know it's a great beer bar (as I mentioned in my earlier post), but there are a lot of great beer bars in the SoCal/SD area, and I'm just surprised more of an effort isn't made to make an equitable distribution of younger in the area (so as many places in town as possible have an opportunity to offer it).

also curious about the line. I'm gonna give it a shot solo kind of late tonight (probably around 10) and see if I can get in without waiting long.

I think it's relevant because the places who have these relationships get special treatment. Also, your info about only SF Toro and Monk's getting multiple kegs is wrong in the first place. SD Toro also gets multiple kegs (as far as I can remember) and as someone already mentioned, so does Stone. But as to your point about there being a lot of great beer bars in the SoCal/SD area, it's true. And the majority of them get kegs of PtY. Not that it isn't a big deal to get a keg but I can name at least four places within 15 minutes of me in LA where I can get it. So even with a few places getting more than one keg, there's definitely plenty to go around down here. I understand the experience is different in Oregon and PA so maybe that contributes to being so surprised.

Yeah, I don't think Stone has picked up yet for So-Cal. Places down here haven't even posted their events yet...likely waiting to know that the kegs are physically here.

Went to Santa Rosa today. Was in line at 7:30AM, basically down to the corner. Came up short for the first wave - we were 5th & 6th in line once it was full. Got in around 12:15.

Damn! Didn't make the first wave getting in line at 7:30am? I got there at 7:15-7:40 each of the last 3 years During the first Friday and got in easily during the first wave. I guess I assumed with the Haze craze in full affect and so many other awesome hoppy options the PtY hype would lessen. I'm very happy PtY is still bringing in the crowds since I can't make it this year and love what it does for the Santa Rosa economy (my wife is getting the North Bay).

Any reviews? I think that the 2015 PtY is still the best IPA I've ever had, 2016 was good, and 2017 was great.

My buddy and I pulled into line at 11:10 am yesterday (Friday). We were fully aware it would be a long wait. RR staff were great...they'd provide updates and let us know we were basically looking at a 6 hour wait. We started just behind the corner. I never thought I'd wait that long but it was a beautiful day and the crowd was full of great people. I waited 4 years ago in an absolute monsoon, so this was easy.

Anyways, we got in 6h and 10 min later. Was it worth it? Absolutely! The best part is once you're in, you get a table and 3 hours to enjoy everything. Younger was amazing! Had all 3 and an Elder as well and couldn't have been happier.

Are there generally always long lines to get in? If I showed up at the brewery today around 6pm, what is a typical wait? And is there standing room or only tables? Thanks!

The line on a Saturday won't be pretty. Even at 6 pm you'd be looking at multiple hours. As the evening creeps on, it seems like more people get in without tables. They really do their best to keep the customers happy.

    Ok thanks.

Does anyone know if kegs at Toronado last all day? It looks like they tap one at 11:30 AM, would that still be around in the afternoon/evening, or do they go quickly?
