That's very disappointing. I like Sidecar a lot, sucks that it went down that way.

$6 go to charity. I'm OK with that.

$6 for 6oz. The bar is matching the other $6.

Down to 79%, it'll be gone before I leave work.

I'll probably be here at least till 5:00. No biggie. Hope you make it!

I really think it's $6, and Tria is coughing up the other $6. If not, thier web page is really worded poorly:

    "Price/Size: $6/6oz

No explanation required, but remember: limit one per guest. $6 for 6oz of beer, $6 match for The Food Trust"

Sounds like Tria is matching the $6 for the cost of the pour. If so, that's great. I wish I worked in the city, by the time I get back into town it will be long gone. With a one per person limit I have to imagine it will last until 5pm.

Yeah, wording is definitely awkward, but here's from the link I posted from their tweet: "$6/6oz glass plus a $6 match for charity (aka $12 per Pliny purchase)". The reason why it's important is that the more it costs, the longer it will likely last since people who don't know, won't pay the price.

You're right, starting to agree it is $12. Anyone know if Tria advertised the event? I saw it on their main Twitter page (for all 3 of their establishments), but thats about it.

I still think it will last a few more hours. Most people ordered wine when I was there while I drank RR Supplication and Draft Tilquin Gueuze. At $9 and $12 respectively, but it was still worth it in my book.

Originally planned on going to Monk's, but that seemed like a lot of line waiting. Instead, I took the bus with friends at 9AM on a Friday with that "easier event" mindset. Guess it didn't turn out that way...

I had never been to Monks so I wound up getting there at 9:30 and figured I'll deal with the wait but will at least be further along in line to get a glass. The way it worked out I could have gotten there at 11 and would have been okay. Not sure if it will work that way next year.

So Monk's somehow would've been a better idea than lesser known bar like Sidecar...

Who could've guessed? Meh. I say now that I won't do it again next year, but we'll see...

This is the third year running that I've said "this is the last year I'm going to go through this nonsense!" But every year come February, I somehow conveniently forget the promises I made from last year. One thing that helps out here, is that more and more places are making younger a ticketed event, so you can drop by whenever you want on younger day to get your glass. Cuts down on the crowds as well, as there's no hope of getting younger unless you have an advance ticket.

Grey Lodge had a "surprise" tapping at 7pm and it's already gone. How much of a surprise could that have been?
