Are there any ticketed Younger events this year in Philly?

Awesome, really appreciate the info. Big help. Guess I'll just have to decide whether it's worth the headache and the wait(s).

Do keep me posted on that Sahara property though, I hear it's a dry heat so it's not that bad.

LOL. Yeah, but couldn't you say the same thing about a lot of the top ranked, super hyped beers on the market right now? For instance, I'm pretty sure Lawson's Double Sunshine wouldn't make my top 10 DIPA's, and I'm not even sure it would make my top 50. Good beer, but it's really hard for me to understand why it's in the BA top 10.

I had more than my fair share at Bishop's Collar last year. It's all about being at the right place at the right time with this beer

Hype and rarity would be my guesses.

start following/subscribing to places like the Hulmeville Inn and The Grey Lodge. They'll let you know one way or another.

I definitely walked around the Art Museum for a few hours to sober up, I wasn't expecting to have more than 5oz. lol

I think it's more a matter of "different strokes for different folks." I thought it a very good beer, but I just didn't think it was in the same league as younger, hopslam, Ephraim, Notorious, etc., just to name a few.

That being said, I'll happily give it another shot (if I ever get the chance), as I did think it a very fine beer. In fact, right now I have a bottle of Sip of Sunshine in the fridge that I'm very much looking forward to.

Had to do this on zwanze day a couple years back. Drank way too much in a short time (couple pints of Pliny, heady from someone in line and a bunch of other beers). Slept on the bench at love park for a good hour. Surprised I didn't get into any run ins from police for doing so and/or being drunk in public in middle of the day.

On Monks Event page, Tom says he will send out emails once the date is confirmed. I assume that means once the kegs reach the Philly distro or Monks. To receive emails, sign up for their mailing list through the website.

Makes more sense. Younger is typically a Mad Monday event.

    From the Monk's mail list:

Hey there Campers, Just a quick heads-up that we will be tapping our keg of Russian River Pliny the Younger on Monday morning, March 2nd @ 11:30AM. We will also be pouring Pliny the Elder; Blind Pig; Damnation; Temptation; Supplication; and many more extraordinary beers. This event raises much-needed money for Alex's Lemonade Stand, which funds pediatric cancer care, family support and research. ALL BEERS WILL BE CASH ONLY! I will send out a complete draft list within the next day or two.

    see ya Monday

    Tom
