I will be in San Fran for a week (Feb 15-22) and was wondering if there are any local bars that might be pouring PtY? I plan on driving up to RR on the 17th but I will be traveling with my teenage son, so I won't be able to brave the lines. Is it even worth going up there given the crowds? Thanks for the help!!
Not really. As much as I love PTY, standing in line for 6+ hours for one glass is insane. Check out the release schedule and see if there are any local spots pouring while you're here. Those lines will be *somewhat* shorter - Good Luck
the only way to "enjoy" RR during Younger days is by waiting in the line. There's not a "non-Younger" line to eat there, so you may as well just skip it
Of course the one overnighter we get to wine country this quarter is during Younger, so we're doing a night in Healdsburg and having lunch at Bear Republic instead. I'm too old for lines that long.
Do a trade for some Hopocalypse Black Label. I'll get some hate for this but its better than Younger.
Not sure if PtY is worth the wait, but RR has exceptional beers. They open at 10 and I was there at 915 only had one person in front. I'm sure with PtY it may be longer, but get there early enough it's worth the wait. Bottles to take home are priced well as well. Good luck. If you don't go to RR hit up Lagunitas, also in Santa Rosa 3rd street Ale Works.
