    Most of my experiences at Apex have been positive as well, and some of the bartenders there are great. For that matter, the tap list is invariably outstanding, and not everything there is outlandishly priced. That being said, it seems pretty clear that the owner could give a rat's ass about customer service, and some of the things Jesse has done in the past almost sounds like an intentional attempt to piss people off.

    That being said, given the quality of the tap list, I completely understand why many people are fans of Apex. In other cities I've lived, I would happily overlook the poor customer service there, and continue to patronize the place. However, this is PDX (thank God!), and there are all kinds of great beer bars in town where the owner isn't a jerk. Consequently, I tend to go to those places and not Apex.

    I've heard tons of rumors about him, such as reselling De Garde kegs? Any truth to that? What other stories are there?

    Have no idea, and it's not a story I've ever heard.

    If you really are interested in learning more about some of the negative impressions some folks have about Apex, I would recommend reading over some of the reviews for the place, or just doing a topic search in this forum. You should find plenty of information.

    Someone in Oregon more than likely did resell a de Garde keg to someone in Seattle years ago.

    I've also never had a bad experience at Apex. I order my beer, they give me my beer. I'm not looking for the bartender to be my best friend or anything.

    So, Green Dragon's tapping was last night. I didn't go, but I think that was the last Younger event. Can we kill this thread now? It's devolved into a bunch of useless rumor mongering.
