Another thread bump, for the Stout fans among us.

Yesterday I had two interesting and very good PNW stouts, both on tap at Beveridge Place. Gigantic's Most Premium, a fine Russian Imperial Stout, and Holy Mountain's Shadowlifter, an oatmeal stout. A day or two earlier, I'd had another glass of one of my all time favorite stouts, Founders Breakfast Stout. For what it's worth, I think the Shadowlifter was equal to FBS, or maybe even slightly better.

If you're a stout fan, especially for stouts that aren't boosted with bourbon barrel aging,
it's worth a trip out to West Seattle.

Personally, I'm about ready for any PNW stout I can get my hands on at this point. Am waiting for my flight to PDX, and thought I would end my "fast"with a bottle of Red Rock drioma RIS. Ugghhhh.... Maybe if I'm gone another month I'll be more thankful for it's understated charms, but even then, I'm not so sure. Just may need to crack open that last bottle of Berserker that's been living in the beer fridge the past few months!

I had a pour of the Coffee/Vanilla Shadowlifter over the weekend and loved it. Great mouthfeel and well balanced. Don't think I've had the base beer though.

I haven't had Most Premium, but I had Most Most Premium two years back and remember it being one of the flattest BA brews I've had. Will give the base a shot though.

I'm not sure whether there are two different beers, or just two different names. Beveridge Place just called it Shadowlifter. When I looked it up on BA, I didn't notice the current listing for "Coffee/Vanilla Shadowlifter," so I went to the Archived beers, found "Shadowlifter" there, and entered my rating under the old listing. The ABV for both the archived listing and the new listing are the same, which is often a sign that it's the same beer.

The "first" version definitely had at least coffee–I drank it in February of 2016 and noted it then. Not sure about the vanilla, though.

Breakside just released 12oz bottles of an 18month BA porter. about $6.50-$7 per bottle. its fantastic. probably the first BA beer from Breakside that I feel they really knocked it out of the park

That's good to know. I think I saw it on the shelf and passed based on the good, not great BA barleywine they had in that format earlier. If I see it again, I'll give it a go.

I know this is a Stout thread, but, Structures released a nice porter last week, but the Vanilla version was very, very good.

New Aslan imperial stout sounds amazing:

These usually make it down to Chucks, so hopefully I can snag a pour.

Passed on it when I was there this afternoon (had a Piranha Bath sour, and a new IPA, Falcon Punch, which is made with a British yeast that hasn't been used since the 1940's [according to the owner, the last time that yeast sample had even been pulled from the library was 1980], and had a different hop, Eurillo (sp). at $8.50/pint, not sure it'll be a repeat buy for me, but it was interesting.), sounded good, but, as usual, the coffee put me off.

Could be. He pronounced it Eur (like Europe) - Rillo (like Amarillo).

    Skookum just dropped these labels:

The original Asesinato de Cuervos is awesome, so I'm quite excited for the BA version. Same with the BA Breakfast Stout. And in 12oz bottles??

Both look amazing. Does skookum distribute? More importantly, to the east side of the mountains?
