Silver City bottles their regularly available Panther Lake Porter and their seasonal Imperial Stout but like Sound Brewery, most of their brews are in 22oz bottles. They are really good though.

I don't buy their bottles (I do agree that a lot of their stuff is too high priced) my experience is at their taproom.

pFriem, like De Garde, kinda destroys the pricing curve. I've found the UF beers available in Bend to be novel and without direct comparison, so I've been pretty content to pay a small premium for their beer. Limesicle, Temporary Permanence, et al. have been worth the price of admission.

It must have a lot to do with the long history of having a vibrant craft scene. I think this history has made a lot of us fiercely loyal to our local brewers. I can say personally, that I have not had BCBS since the inbev buyout, and that won't change at any point in the future.

Thanks guys! I've enjoyed a few sours from them that I've seen out here in Philly, so am looking forward to trying Holy Matrimony to see what they can do with a stout... I'm sending my sister to the release, so I am glad to hear it won't be a shit show.

Here in the Northwest, we don't really do 'shit shows,' except for this year, where we experimented with a few at a handful of places, and just for science, I guess.

Your sister (definitely), and the rest of us (hopefully), should be fine going forward.

Well, Holy Matrimony was kind of a disappointment. It's nothing like Double Stack or Morning Wood, the maple is much more subtle and its presence isn't revealed until the finish, wherein it merely coats the mouth in that sticky sort of way. Body was a bit thin, which seems to be a pretty common theme with UFB beers. Oh well. $14/bottle at the brewery, seems like they have quite a few remaining. Not available on tap.

Reuben's had a great turnout last night for the BABS release, really cool to see Kuma Coffee there as well. BABF is great, lots of lactose sweetness but not cloying. Great body, lots of freshly ground coffee on it.

Couple buddies and I decided to make the drive up to Bellingham to checkout the Structures party, and ended up wandering over to Aslan for a beer afterwards. Great spot. Had a pour of their Chai Milk Stout which was like drowning in chai. Far too spiced for me.

i thought it was weird that draft holy matrimony was gone when i got there at 1pm. it's off-putting to me that they would sell a 12 oz beer for $14 without a reasonable possibility of trying it first.

hoping to swing by reuben's tomorrow. hopefully they still have the BABS on draft.

I'm sure they'll still have it on tap. They still have BAIS on tap, in addition to: Batch #7 BABS, BABS, BS, and Cask BS. Looks like they still have bottles too.

Brouwer's has Reuben's BAIS on tap as part of their "Big Wood" festival, didn't care too much for it personally though.

Urban Family did have Holy Mattimony on draft, it just blew pretty damn fast. I know @jpbebeau had some on Saturday.

Yeah, they mentioned in posts leading up to the event they only had enough draft for people who got there early. I heard they had 1/3 of 1/6 barrel that didn't make it in to bottles, and just poured that until it was gone. You can always buy bottles to drink onsite there, though, so you could split a bottle with someone if you really wanted to taste it before buying more.

pFriem's Scotch Barrel-Aged Imperial Brown Ale is not a stout, but it's arguably in the same neighborhood, and it is pretty damn terrific. The scotch-barrel character nicely enhances the roasty/nutty/sweet brown ale.

Reubens BABS is incredible. Nobody should sleep on this one... I liked it better than Coffee KDS.

Yeah, that's a good one, nice balance.

Epic's Big Bad Baptista is good deal for less than $14/bomber if you like cinnamon. Better than Abraxas in my opinion. Picked up a bottle of the double barrel BBB for the same price but haven't tried it yet.

Yes! My exact thoughts! BBBaptista is obviously different in that it has coffee and is aged in whiskey barrels (vs. reg Abraxas having no coffee and no BA). But to compare cinnamon only, it is sooo much better. Abraxas is too overwhelmingly cinnamon for me.

Glad people are liking BB Breakfast Stout. Previous batches were really small tests, but in this bigger batch it was tough separating the beans from the beer, and so we lost a lot of beer in the process! Brewery smelt great though. All a learning process...

Good news is that we packaged more BBBS than any of our other barrel aged beers so far, so we should have it on draft at the brewery through this month and we have some bottles too. And for the first time we are able to send some cases out to distribution this week too, as well as the base Breakfast Stout itself.
