With the influx of Eastern European immigration into the UK, and the rise of ethnic food shops ("Polish shops"), I was expecting a more interesting range of bottled beers to be available.
Most shops have Zywiec and Tyskie from Poland. I've seen Bauskus Alus from Latvia.
But not much from the Czech Republic, bar the odd bottle of Gambrinus and Kosel, which are industrial lagers.
Anyone seen Bernard, Svijany, Ferdinand, Cerna Hora etc. in their local "Polish" shops? These are mid-sized brewers which you might find in most Czech supermarkets.

I see Zywiec, Tyskie, Warka, Zubr, Perla Chmielowa, Kasztelan unpateurised, Specjal and a few other Polish lagers in many of the types of shop you mention. It's disappointing not to see more than these industrial lagers. A Zywiec porter would be nice. There's an east European shop in Hendon , North London with some interesting Lithuanian and Latvian Ales. There's also a Russian shop in Finchley with the full Baltika range. The porter ("no6") is pretty good. For what it's worth, I like Perla Chmielowa - a tastier than average pale lager. Zywiec bock is widely available and quite good.

Almost forgot.... Zlaty Bazant from Slovakia is an excellent Czezh style pils. This one turns up here and there in ethnic food shops.

Had Zlaty Bazant over in Bratislava at Easter, very nice, reminded me of Pilsner Urquell. Preferred the dark beer from the Slovak Pub and Sirius from Beer Palace tho'.

Any opportunity to grab something different I take
and will stick my head in when passing any Polski Sklep
but other than Warka Strong I've never seen anything other than Zywiec, Tyskie
and other pale lagers (including Pabst blue ribbon) never seen anything worth grabbing
and I would give any dark beer a go.

The strong Polish beers are OK for getting s**tfaced. Zywiec is OK, too.
But it's disappointing that there are not more CZ lagers other than PU, Budvar, Staropramen.

Johannes lager is nice and malty, and apparently it's quite similar to east German beers, which is cool.

[IMG] Would like to reiterate my liking for Perla Chmielowa. With a lot of these beers I would say having a few in a row is necessary to appreciate them and learn to love the flavour profile. This Polish lager made it into the widely available "1001 beers you must try" book and merits its place.

You can get it for 1 pound in a lot of shops in London but I'm not sure if it's more widely available. Dark beers are great but give some love to pale lagers too!

Do you have a shop or outlet that I could visit as I'm only 25 miles from Glasgow?

Ok, no worries, just thought there would maybe be a warehouse somewhere that I could peruse the goodies. I'll have another look on your website and maybe order a case. I'm sure you've worked out from my username that I'm a big fan of Czech beer.

    Hi!
About polish beers, all that is offered in polish shops is piss (except Perła). Only use of them is to get drunk. In Poland we have much wider range of beers like dark, honey, wheat even rye but I couldn't find them here. It's a shame because it's something that Poles can be proud of. Anyway, we don't have many breweries, but it's about quality not quantity, isn't it?

If you can find something brewed by Fortuna, Ciechan, Cornelius or Kormoran, you should try it. Those are the most popular of Polish regional breweries, I think. I really miss them ;-)

I haven't had a chance to purchase any beers from your fantastic website as I've had loads on, but I definitely will.
