12 oz bottles all day, every day. I hate seeing people complaining about $18/6 pack prices for Hopslam/Expedition (for example). That is 72 oz of beer. Everyone praises Lagunitas (me included, at the front of the line) for their bomber pricing, and at $6 each, it is a good deal... compared to other bombers. However, that is still $0.27 an oz vs $0.25 an oz for a 6 pack of beer at the higher end of the price range. Now think about what most bombers cost you. Don't encourage brewers to do it!!

If you are saying take the beer out of a bomber or 750 ml and break it down into a 4 pack of 12 oz beers, I am all for that. But if they are charging the same for 12oz vs 22oz. Uh, give me more beer! Its not that big of a difference and portions are not that significant in that respect.

it's widely known that beers in bomber form are much more expensive per ounce than the 12 once form. If people would rather pay extra so they can open one bottle instead of two....well that's just fucking lazy

I voted 12 ounce as that is what I buy all of the time for regular drinking. Rarely bombers other than review beers. However there is one exception to that rule. Belgian style beers that are packaged in normal American style 12 ounce vs 750 ml. 750>12 ounce in that case unless they are Belgian stubbies. They are always carbonated lower than their 750 counterparts due to the the lower thickness of the glass and resulting bottle pressure limits of the format.

Even playing devil's advocate I can't think of a single solid checkmark to put in the bombers' column. The best you can say is that they're good for sharing. But then, so are 2 12oz bottles. If you're alone they make it more difficult to jump around among different beers. And then when you factor the cost discrepancy per ounce vs the 12oz format... nope. No good.

I like trying new beers. The bombers slow me down.

Okay...I'll throw a monkey wrench into the argument. What about 500 ml bottles (18 oz I think?), such as what Maine Brewing does? Good compromise?

That being said, I voted bomber, just because of transport and sharing.

16.9 oz. And no, 12 oz bottles still win. Nice try, though. :grinning:

I just want bombers to be priced fairly on a by oz basis and then we can stop debating this crap.

Given the option, 12oz bottle every time.

Bombers are just sexier than 12 oz bottles - but I'm completely with you on the portion control thing. I'm torn on this one - just happy to have both options. I enjoy digging through my cellar and seeing bombers of rare brews - what a blast to drag one out and share with a couple friends. I also love having gobs of KBS and BC in 12 oz bottles, perfect for enjoying a morning sipper without getting rolling first thing. The purist in me says bombers.

Goodbye bombers. You don't mind if I drink your beer more than once right?

    Depends on the beer
Barrel aged beers for sharing than a bomber
    Everything else 12oz

Most beer is in 500 ml bottles here , the occasional brewer uses Imperial pints. But there seems to be encroaching some ridiculously small 330 ml bottles which I regard as an insult. They aren't a beer, they are little more than half a beer.
Fortunately I'm rarely reduced to drinking bottled beer.

When I drink alone (and that's most of the time) a bomber just isn't feasible. Now if I am sharing a few beers the bombers work out well. Also 12 oz bottles are easier to fit in my fridge.
