    I prefer bottles, unless I am at the beach or a barbecue.

    While they care about the environment, brewers probably don't care about the end cost of recycling because they are not paying for it.

    They do however care about freight shipping costs. You can fit more cans on a pallet than bottles, and filled cans weigh less than filled bottles. So, not only are they shipping more out per truck, but they are also saving money on fuel and freight. A win-win for the brewery (and a win the environment).

    I personally have no preference, and will drink either format. If I am camping, it is always cans because of the ease of packing them in and out.
