I like the "beginner level" kettle soured beers quite a lot but I haven't experimented much with the more hardcore stuff because of the price, format, and the fact that I am generally not hoping to be taken to funkytown.

    So I said 'yes'.

I am a big fan of all kinds of sours, but I recently had Stillwater's I Miss the Old Kanye, and that was very difficult to get down.

Yes - I rather like them.

I can understand that others might not share my opinion. I guarantee you I have an opinion they wouldn't like about other styles that are rather popular.

Difference is, I don't feel it necessary to yell "yuck, they suck, tastes like......" when people discuss them. I simply keep scrolling to a topic more my flavor (pun intended).

There are no words in the English language to capture my hatred for this style...I've tried many of them to be fair...boulevard's hibiscus Gose, was the only one that I didn't spit out. But as I can see I'm in the vast minority

Would you have found it easier to answer if the question had been phrased "Are there any styles of beer with a sour flavor profile that you sometimes enjoy?"

Or a third choice for an answer such as "I like some but not others."

(or the even simpler, "Some but not others")

    Yes. I don't think I've ever tried one I didn't like.

I like sours that aren't especially sour.

If you like some, then you like sours.

I once went to Bill's Chicken, Pitas and Fried Squid Brewery. They had a honey sea salt kelp IPA that I didn't care for. So I guess I'm on the fence as to whether or not I like IPA's...

Just speaking for myself - It's not a simple question and "sometimes" isn't considered a "yes". I've had some sours that I enjoyed but they were few and far between. Anymore, the tastings I attend everyone goes crazy over the sours.

Some are hit or miss IMO (with most being a miss). That being said, will I actively seek them out? NO.

I'm still not crazy about the over-the-top, excessively funky/barnyard tasting stuff, but man, do I love gose, Berliner weisse, fruit lambics and dry-hopped sours. So, so good.

Naw, you're not on the fence, you like most but not all, otherwise you would have liked the kelp IPA and not bothered to even mention it.

Now if you told us you only liked the "west coast" IPAs and didn't like those with noticeable malt backbone that would also be fine. But if you only said yes to a request for information about whether or not you liked IPAs then you'd be disappointed and probably upset when you couldn't get the IPAs you prefer and you could only buy nice malty IPAs.

Notice how many people in this thread fell the need to qualify or explain their choice. That tells us people feel the need to explain the exceptions to their answer to the poll despite the instruction to answer yes if they like some but not all. In other words they are ignoring the instructions. Thus the simple "either/or" alternatives are misleading about the dynamics of the BA folks views on sours since their exceptions are not mostly focused on one particular beer from one particular brewery.

An equally simple poll including "some but not all" makes the numbers more representative of the situation. Then an added request to explain which are liked (or disliked) and why invites people to elaborate on there tastes. (Just as you might feel the desire to do if you told me you liked IPAs and then I invited you to sample some free pints in my bar that served only kelp IPAs because all my beers use kelp in the brewing.)

I used to hate them, but after getting my feet wet with goses and berliners, I can now enjoy many sour styles. I just don't like when they lean towards the vinegary side.

Stillwater describes it as an Imperial Brett Porter. That seems about right.

Yes. A lot. All styles I had, which includes, I'd guess, all currently brewed basic german and belgian sour styles.
I have no experience in american made sour beers. Yeah.
So there are a lot of nuances, esp. with more modern german interpretations of Gose. I do adore, for instance, Braustelles Einkorn Gose, but I would say its kind of in a different style than Döllnitzer Ritterguts Gose or even bayerischer Bahnhof Gose.

It's probably just mistitled, then. It should have been called Do You 'not categorically hate ' Sours .

It took me a little while to get aboard the sour train but now that I'm there I love them. I can't say I like them all but if I said I like all beers in a particular style I would be lying.

I do enjoy jumping from sour to IPA. I feel that the styles help cleanse the palate for the other style.

    No, I love them.

I'm a huge fan of sour blondes. I'm not big on dark sours though, especially sour stouts.

Voted yes because I enjoy sours. I do not, however, tend to enjoy the price tag associated with the style! As a result, I haven't had that many.
