I've been digging sours from Cascade and Almanac lately. After trying Almanac's Valley of the Heart's Delight, I realized that I prefer Apricot sours more than any other fruit-flavored sour ale. What is your favorite?
So so many good ones, but top would be peach/apricot, close 2nd to cherry (kriek) & raspberries (framboise) Peach/Apricot - Fou Foune, Peche 'n Brett, VotHD, Persica, Fuzzy, R&D Wild Peach, West Ashley, Aurelian Lure Cherry - Sang Noir, Cantillon LP Kriek, 3F Krieks Raspberries - Framboos, Atrial, Cantillon LP Fram, Framboise for a Cure I'd put Strawberry & Cranberry at the bottom.
It's hard to say what fruit. I think it really depends on how well it's made. That said, I have not tried many of the fruit beers with the exception of Blackberries, Peaches, Raspberries, and Cherries. Yeah I'm talking the mystical place called New Glarus.
Probably raspberry, but it only narrowly beats out apricot. Cascade's Apricot is one of my all time favorites. Oh yeah, you did a good job in providing choices in the poll this time!
Finn River is hard to get for me. Usually when I go to Stone, they have bottles there. The Black Currant is amazing. Hints of the currant are evident and the touch of sourness makes it dry and delicious. I've been meaning to order from Finn River, but I think you can order by case and I don't think I can drink 24 bottles of that all the time. Maybe trades. haha.
I answered apricot, but I would've answered grapes if they had been an option. Saint Lamvinus, Vigneronne, Cerveza de Tempranillo, Biere de Blanc du Bois, The Fox and the Grapes, and Cassis, just to name the ones that come immediately to mind, have been far and away my favorite wilds/lambics.
