I haven't seen this topic brought up before, and I'm really curious what the results will be. Are there regions of the U.S. where more or less people trade than other regions? One part of me thinks no, because by definition a trade involves two parties, and those parties are usually in different regions. Another part of me thinks yes, because beer distribution isn't entirely equal from coast to coast and border to border.

Anyway, for the sake of the poll I had to divide the country into five regions, because it's a binary question and only ten polling questions are allowed. So if you're in kind of a border area between two regions, just go with what feels right.

And as far as what the question "do you trade" means, basically, are you a reasonably active, regular trader? If you trade only sporadically or almost never, you might consider saying that you don't trade.

P.S. Apologies to the rest of the world for not including you. Nothing personal.

East coaster here, and I mostly don't trade (even though I completed my first one ever this past week...)

Living in MD, it's a bit difficult to trade, simply because nothing brewed in this state could land the likes of Heady Topper or Zombie Dust - much less anything from the current gaggle of hyped breweries like Trillium, SARA, Jester King, or de Garde. We Marylanders have to rely on being lucky enough to find barrel-aged brews from Firestone Walker, the BCBS variants, or whatever waxed variant of WnB/Moo-Hoo Terrapin released if we want to snag HT in a trade.

Could be worse, though...I could live in West Virginia (sorry @Treyliff)

From the great lakes area and don't trade unless it's with friends. If it were the 1950's I would trade with random people anywhere but folks in this day and age are fucked up

I stopped trading in 2011 when I noticed what people starting demanding for their beers. This is mainly directed at the north east and Chicago areas. We just have too much good stuff available to us on the west coast. I say this as I get ready to go pick up my V015.

Cool idea, but you're bound to get more traders with this poll being in the Beer Trading Talk & Help sub-forum.

Great Lakes reppin' here...I tend to keep my trades in between the mountains to keep costs low but getting West Coast boxes always puts a smile on my face. Greatest qty of trades for me has to be w/ Michigan peeps.

Louisiana here, and without trading I'd just drink bourbon! The distribution here is terrible, except for the southern half of the state which actually gets some great beers. Unfortunately the distributors in this part of the state refuse to bring those beers up here.
