    WCIPAs are IPAs.
    NEIPAs are lazy hazy juice.

I’d really miss the well made NEIPA (few and far between though), but I need that WCIPA fo life!

NONE, Give me back a fine English pale or amber and that's all I need. IPA's are taking up to much shelf space and reduce available styles and purchasing choices.

I actually changed my vote and deleted my draft comment after thinking about this more. I like almost all the NEIPAs I have had, even though finding one that is unique is not easy. I probably like the best WCIPAs I have had more than the best NEIPAs I have had, so as long as the best WCIPAs were eternally available, I would drink those. Just don't limit my WCIPA selection to those bitter bombs that require food to be tolerated. On average, I have found more NEIPAs than WCIPAs that I like.

I know some folks don't consider the NEIPA that started the NEIPA thing to be a NEIPA (probably don't consider a '53 Corvette to be a sports car either), but for the rest of my life I'd be okay to have Heady as my only IPA choice

...no, not a tough choice at all...one can drink west coast IPAs one after the other where most hardcore NEIPAs rip the gut apart unless ingests (injects?) the beer equivalent of an atropine autoinjected AAL into one's system between hazy pours...

...in this case, consult the Magic 8-Ball...likely, the response will be "Reply hazy, try again"...:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I enjoyed the heck out of a fresh Stone IPA stovepipe last night. WCIPA FTW confirmed.

I enjoy both and obviously got started on WC IPAs. But now I drink more NE IPAs and luckily have access to many amazing ones. So it’s NE IPAs over WC. Sorry, traditionalists!

At first glance it wasn't. A good WCIPA brings joy to my heart. I love those clear, piney, dank, resiny, grapefruity, citrus zesty, and intensely bitter beers. I seek them out. Upon further reflection, though, I realized that I love a good NEIPA as well. There's a lot of mediocre ones out there, but when I run across one that I could drink alongside a plate of bacon and eggs without batting an eye, I'm all in. If I had to pick a rest-of-my-life option, I'd go with WCIPA. But it wouldn't make me happy.
I had this by default one night when dining out with some friends because the restaurant had a rather undistinguished beer list otherwise. I'd forgotten what an incredible beer this is. Of course, it was a 12-ounce bottle.
Be careful what you wish for. Once the IPAs are gone, there will be more shelf space for seltzers, RTD "craft" cocktails, ciders, and alcopops. English pales, ambers, ESBs, and milds need not apply.

...no apologies needed for liking what you like...hell, I love chili beers and like pumpkin beers: there are some styles that people seem to either love or hate...all I know is I like 'em and am more than happy when others leave more of them for me to consume...

    Yes!

I like pretty much every style, so the idea of which of two IPA styles only to drink for the rest of my life would mean I would give up an unnoticeable percentage of the styles I enjoy..

No one can tell me they've had a Pliny, Blind Pig, Sculpin, AleSmith IPA, Second Chance IPA and then didn't proclaim them superior. #BestCoast #TheWestistheBest

I drank every NEIPA you'd give me a couple of years ago, and I still love them, don't get me wrong, but I've been dying for some bitterness in my beers. I bought 3 six packs of Ruination when they released it again this past winter and it just hit the spot. I need to find more beers like that on the regular that aren't SNPA or Torpedo.
