    For normal conversation just beer....

Anytime I am talking to my toddler, or we are in the beer aisle at the store, etc. "Daddy Pop". He came up with the name, not me...

One of my best friends has a 2 year old daughter. Ever time I go over to his house and we are chilling having a few, his daughter comes up to him asking for a sip of his beer, thinking it's juice or water. He says, "No, this is daddy juice." That cracks me up every time.

I like to keep it simple and straight forward. Beer going in, Pee coming out. It really should be that simple.

"one of these" - used when heading to the fridge, either, "do you want one of these?" or "I'm going go grab one of these."
Also, "grown-up juice" is generally used when little ones are around.

I don't opt the the "juice" terminology because my toddler is allowed to have juice, but he is NOT allowed to have pop/soda (for good reason) so it just kind of reiterates the fact that it is not for him by calling it daddy pop.

If not beer, then liquid bread and adult beverage are the terms I tend to use.

The cool thing about 'a cold one' is that every beer drinker knows this 'code'...

None of the alternatives give me as much pleasure as the real word - especially with emphasis placed on the long vowel.

"Seems like a fine occasion for a delicious cold beer."

My kids dubbed it Daddy Juice, and I usually always say beer or Adult Beverage.
When going out with friends or family I always use the line from American Movie "Let's say we go down and have a few pitchers at Jim Mitchelll's!"
