    my tiny hometown in VA made a local bar called, The Bar, change their name because it promoted the devil's drink.
    They rearranged the "a" in their LED sign to a "u."
    They are The Bur.

    Outside of "Beer", "Brew" is the one most in use. But up here "Brewski" and "Wobbly Pops" have some play too.

    I refer to beer as beer for the most part, but the other term I use most frequently is brew.

    Being a charter member of the "Friday Night Suds Club" kind of gives away my preference for an alternative for the word beer. Friday afternoon the text goes out "SUDS" and members respond regarding which bar gets our patronage that evening.

    Our motto is: "Solving the world's problems....one beer at a time"
