Ponto Floaties?

I will say I have no idea who does quality control for them, but it seems odd that they wouldn't do it at their own facilities.

 

2 different six packs had this same problem. Same canned date.

 

I was assuming that all the cans/bottles for distribution from this company would happen at the same place. Now I remember that they have that canning line at the Pizza Port facility in Bressi, so yeah they're done separately from the port ones.

 

No no no. Mongo is Lost Abbey who we all know doesn't give a shit about QC. Let's not lump a known offender in with Pizza Port until they don't do anything. Something needs to be done though because this...

All I know is that Pizza Port doesn't filter but they do run their beer through a centrifuge. Sounds like they are definitely having some QC issues. I heard one of the brewers there is now brewing at PP San Clemente so either they are short staffed or have a new person on board.

 

Status update:

Can't resist a 6pk of Swamis for $14. Picked one up at Whole Foods Laguna Beach and no floaters, canned 8/11/14. The thread title says ponto but i also had Swamis earlier in the summer with the same issue so it seems like they have sorted it out to some extent. Hope they expand the canned lineup in the coming months. I need some "Pseudo" IPA.

 

I heard a rumor early on that they were planning another offering shortly, but then Swami's blew up and any new addition had been pushed back to manage current demand. Has anyone heard anything about the next canned addition?

 

I sent a second email inquiring about the floaties. absolutely no response. Week sauce! Would have never expected shitty customer service like this from pizza port.

 

My brother sent an email about floaties and no response as well. The 8/11 I picked up the other day is free of floaties.

 

hmm well my coworker let the head brewer know about it and offered to do some QA tests i think. i will bother him again today or tomorrow because i need answers! weird that you guys aren't hearing back

 

wow.. was drinking out of the can this weekend at the pool and had no clue. popped some cans tonight at home in a pint glass and it looked like an episode of x-files. I let the meal worms settle to the bottom then drank the living shit out of it, no problems here.

Just finished my 8/11 Swamis 6pk, no floaties.

They might think ignoring your email, will make you go away. My biggest pet peeve is shitty customer service, at least send a automated email "we have received your message/email, someone will be getting back to you"!
