    I would have completed my purchase, turned around, then offer to resell to him at a profit ... although I could find nothing on point in my copy of Emily Post, I'm sure this would be within the spirit of her general instruction

    there are plenty of founders 4 packs floating around the amount of cases available this year is insane..
    tell him to stop breaking 4 packs also.

    Buy whatever you want whenever you want as long as you don't break the store rules. If the other people didn't show up in time to buy, that's their fault.
