    Hey all-

Any DC/Nova folks have experience with visiting the Port City taproom? I'm going to be in Alexandria on Friday, and wondering if its worth a visit, or should we make the extra drive to visit Mad Fox Brewing.

While fairly solid, their regular lineup doesn't really excite me. Does Port City ever have any one-off or brewery specific beers to pour, or pretty much just the standard lineup?

I live in DC so have regular access to their stuff anyway...but have a Zipcar rented for the afternoon, so thought we'd build in a brewery stop (gf will be driving). Thanks!

I think it's worth it, find out what time they open, pay them a visit, have some samples, then head over to MadFox.

Port City will have their standard lineup, plus any seasonal or specialties (maybe even their oyster stout). Right now they will have their second anniversary ale, TWO, on draft, it's draft only and at a few locations so that would be cool.

Like dhartogs said, it's their regular line-up along with any seasonal beers or occasional one-offs. I was there twice last year and both times it followed that trend. Revival happened to be on both times (months apart).

I went once last year and was underwhelmed. Perhaps it was because it was the standard line. I agree with dhartogs, head to MadFox in Falls Church.

I would stop, it is in an industrial park, then move on to Mad Fox after 7pm.

Or start there, then Dogfish Head (Duke west 1.5 miles to 395 north to King west (turns into Leesburg Pike), drink one or three there, then Mad Fox (use GPS navigator to get through the seven corners mess and on the correct road).

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Think we'll pop into PC quick to try '2', and then on to Mad Fox.

I recommend a visit to Port City. Great lineup of their year round beers and usually an occasional draft only like others suggested - huge fan of their Revival Stout
