    Shot in the Dark from Tilted Shack Brewing in Taiwan. Imperial porter. 9% ABV.

    Poured at fridge temp. Pours a thick black with minimal head. The nose is roasted malts, charred wood, ash, tar, tobacco, coffee grounds, and maybe a hint of very dark chocolate.

    The taste is bitter malts, nice flavors of dark chocolate, coffee grounds, very slight dark fruit, dark bread, and a fireplace after the fire has been out for a few hours.

    Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the aftertaste is charred wood.

    Prairie Artisan Degenerate Breakfast Imperial Porter, 10.5% ABV. Pours thick and black, with a one-finger brown head that left spotty lacing. Aroma is strong coffee and maple. Taste follows, plus chocolate, moderately sweet, slightly tart. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding to world-class adjacent.

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.25 | overall: 4.5

    Haven't tried the IPA Cotton Candy yet. Looking at the picture, that black spot at the bottom could be problematic.

    It’s the first beer of theirs I ever tried, way back in the day. They used to have neon signs for bars. I may have a picture somewhere. I’ll post if I do. Really nice robust porter.

    Burial Beer Co. Lightgrinder Porter

    5.8% ABV
    Burial has released several porters. This one has a prominent hop citrus flavor which is well integrated with the roast malt and chocolate notes. From the pictures on Untappd, there should be a healthy beige head, so my pour had a glitch. I'll be on the lookout to buy it in the future.

    Even in the Morning. A coffee porter by Immigrant Son. A nice blend of roasty coffee and bitter char. Good mouthfeel and carbonation. Easy drinking. Cheers.

    Been a while since I found something beyond Black Butte. But today I got a chance to try Palace XXX from Faction brewing. It's a porter brewed with molasses and its a damn fine beer. Wish it was avaliable to me in packages. Super flavorful, dry clean finish, medium body, wouldn't have a problem putting away a few imperial pints of this
