    Hey guys,

Ill be travelling to Portland over the Memorial Day weekend. I have some questions that no one seems to be able to answer (at least so far). Ill be in Portland May 26-27.

    1) What are my chances of getting cans if Bissell Brothers? Ideally Swish, but I know thats unlikely.
    2) Im staying behind Fore River Brewing, any thoughts?
    3) What other options do I have for bottles/cans to bring back with me? We have scheduled stops at Allagash and MBC. Yes Im driving, so space isnt exactly an issue.

I opened this thinking Portland Oregon... Didn't look to see what forum it was in.

    1) Zero.
    2) Nope.
    3) Hair of the Dog, Cascade, Great Notion...

    1) Swish isn't produced that time of year. Memorial Day weekend, I assume, would be painfully crowded at can release time and not worth counting on getting anything.
    3) MBC will be easy to get bottles, Allagash the same, Foundation will definitely have cans at brewery, Rising Tide will have plenty (including their great seasonal Maine Island Trail Ale) and there's plenty of other options either at brewery or in stores.

    Thanks!

If you had to pick 2 breweries to grab things from, what would you pick?

Sorry, Im pretty clueless about the breweries in Portland itself.

If you are IPA centric -- Bissell/Foundation and Austin st would be my top 3 in that order. If you get to Bissell around when they open on Friday you should be able to get Substance cans and possibly a 2nd offering. Foundation had had a pretty good backlog of cans lately -- but bets are off for the holiday weekend as noted already. Austin is growlers only.

Allagash should have multiple sours available at the brewery, some are brewery exclusive. Oxbow usually has a few bottles available at their brewery. I'd stop at Trillium on the way up or down for cans.

I wish we were, but there are only so many days in the weekend, and a good bit of it will be driving. Were staying like a 10 minute walk from Churchkey in DC on the way back on Memorial Day, then maybe hitting up Veil/Answer on the way home if theyre open. Def Mekong at worst.

Next NE trip, Boston is on the list for sure.

    Thanks

Do breweries on the way to Portland count? If so I definitely suggest Banded Horn and Barreled Souls (as i feel like i've said on a similar thread) but as for in the city itself oxbow and allagash are great choices.

I meant more like just pop into one of their breweries for 10 minutes to get cans. Both locations are close to highways, 95 in Cantons case. Either way sounds like a great trip.

Ah got ya! I think my girlfriend wants to get to Maine quickly, so a quick pitstop in Boston isnt in her plans....
