Doing a day trip to Portland tomorrow. Haven’t been in a while. Or paid much attention. Looking for brewery and/or beer recommendations to hit up or look for while I’m there other than Bissel. (Every single time I go Bissel is out of cans lol). Especially relatively easy to find stuff since beer is not the purpose of the trip!

The locals will provide the best details but I’ve been impressed with everything from Lone Pine.

I would say based on Bissell's facebook page recently unless it's a hyped release you can get cans up until late afternoon. But if it's a variety to go you want, the stores are reasonably stocked: Bier Cellar, RSVP, or if you don't mind exiting early off the Maine Turnpike my favorite due to proximity to family is Oak Hill Beverage in Scarborough off of Route 1. Oak Hill has a cooler to the left just inside the door with a variety from Lone Pine, Mast Landing, Battery Steele, Austin Street, Foundation, Banded Horn, Liquid Riot, etc.

I really was impressed with Goodfire's stuff if you want NEIPA

Yes, this. Goodfire and Lone Pine are right next to each other, though I prefer Goodfire.

While they don't currently have the capacity or breadth of Bissell, Goodfire is currently making the best IPAs in town IMO. Austin Street also crushes, although their selection tends to be very limited as well in their current facility. If they still have cans of Offset, get some, it's top tier.

I'm really enjoying lone pine. Tessellation is top-tier for me. Have not had goodfire yet.

You can probably grab a ton of great local IPA options with one stop at the Bier Cellar. You can even pre-buy many of the choices on their website and have them waiting for you when you arrive.

I usually grab stuff from Goodfire, Mast Landing, Austin St., Battery Steele.

The newest addition is Definitive Brewing Co, located at Industrial Way with Austin/Allagash/Battery Steele/DL Geary/Foundation. They are mostly producing IPA's and I have enjoyed what I have tried.
