Just as the title states, I'll be in Portland Wednesday through Sunday next week and am looking for recommendations. I've never been before and am staying downtown and will have a car so I'll be able to get around. Looking for good local brewpubs and good bottle shops. Also, is there any chance that any Russian River sours will be around the city next week? Never had any and would like to try some if possible. Thanks in advance!

I think I saw Supplication on tap over at the Apex a couple weeks back as well. It's not something I pay all that much attention to, because as kscaldef mentioned, consecration, temptation nd supplication can be found easily all over town (my local MofC in West Linn had a good supply of all 3 a couple weeks back).

Also, if the OP is into sours at all, I hear tell that the folks over at Cascade manage to make a fairly decent one from time to time. So maybe it would be worth his while to visit the Cascade Barrel Room as well. Maybe...

bottle shops: Belmont Station, Saraveza, Beermongers. Bottles on Fremont is decent too.
beer bars: the above, plus Apex and Baileys.
Brewpubs: Alameda, Deschutes, Tugboat, Migration, Laurelwood, Gigantic, Amnesia

    That's a solid shortlist.

Except for Tugboat, Alameda, and Migration. I don't suggest visiting Gigantic because it's not much of a tasting room. Not a fan of Amnesia, either.

Also unclear how HOTD and Cascade don't make the list.

    Or Upright.

Priority #1 should always be HotD. Always.

Yeah, i blew it on HotD. Cascade and Upright don't make my list because I don't enjoy sours or belgians. so there.

Don't go to upright. They don't have any good beer.

Thanks for the recommendations. Love sours so I'll definitely be stopping at Cascade. We don't get Hair of the Dog so I'll be headed there to as well as to Upright for the Fantasia on Friday.
