Not sure how much DM made of this, but have so far seen it at the bier stein in eugene, the horse brass and the DM taproom. For those who enjoy huge, massively piney and dank DIPA's, this should be right up your alley (it is mine). The flavor profile is great as well, and I didn't think the hoppy bitterness was too overpowering, or the 10% abv. Anyway, just wanted to recommend it... it, along with the Megafauna, are two of the more impressive DIPA's I've seen this summer. I think it's still on at the Horse Brass right now. They're selling it in 10 ounce glasses only, for $4.50 a glass. Of course, they'll happily pour you a free sample of the beer first, just in case you want to make sure it's sometihng you like before committing to a 10 ounce pour.
Oh yeah, I added this beer to BA after my visit to Double Mountain. I saw that you dug it. It is pretty darn nice!
Stopped by today at the HB for another glass. Not sure how much longer it will last, but it's great stuff. I just love it!
Yeah John, I think people need to know about this beer. I'm sorry your Apex thread is on lockdown. Good points. I see a thread of mine on lockdown here in the near future. P.S. Get your butt up to Tacoma next weekend for E-9 Sourfest..I saw the lineup and you will kill yourself if you don't show!
A tad boozy for my tastes, which it's too say I don't think the high abv was very well hidden, but the hop profile was pretty awesome. I agree with the "piney and dank" description. I had it at PIB and I know Bailey's had it as well, so it seems to be making the rounds.
Sounds like my kind of beer, thanks for the heads up. I had a better opinion of Double Mountain beers before they started putting beer in bottles. Good to see them coming out with something quality.
I wish we got more of it down here in Eugene. For some reason we don't seem to get all that much DM stuff, so my guess is that the keg they had over at Bier Stien is likely the only one we'll get to see. Oh well, plenty of other good stuff around town (can always go with some Hop Venom), but it was a treat to see this over at the HB yesterday (along with the blue dot and PtE).
