The trade was set up through BA and ship dates were agreed on. When I received no confirmation of shipping from him I held my shipment. I tried contacting him repeatedly with no response. Up until that point his communication was very good, even wanted to set up another trade in 2 weeks. Luckily, I didnt send my box because he wasn't responding to messages and it seemed fishy to me. I continued to try to reach him over the next month. No responses. Original traders as follows: I would send him 2xSupp 1x almanac FR blueberry 1x almanac Dogpatch + a combo of 4 bottles of whatever you think the best ipa's are you listedfrom noble ales works, drakes, modern times and el segundo brewing. And from him(@Beerislove430) 1x4th anniversary wb 1xFisticuffs 1xMoohochiato 3xWnb +Extras to make up for the difference. I have some great georgia beer I could throw in, I have a couple '14 kbs's left, clown shoes, etc
It seems you left the trader negative feedback already. Not sure why a thread here was needed additionally as the feedback system will reflect accordingly. And especially since no one is out any beer.
Was told by one of the moderators of the site to create a bad trader thread so the trader doesn't do this to someone else.
No beer was shipped. Trade was accepted and he kept making excuses and pushing out the agreed ship date. This made me kind of apprehensive. So when he didn't ship, I tried reaching out to him for a couple of months. Never responding with even a sorry couldn't make the trade. That would have been fine, no hard feelings. That's a bad trader in my book and I feel like he was trying to get me to send a box and not send anything in return.
Just my 2 cents. If I were to just "randomly" look at a users feedback, in this case let's use @Beerislove430 . Just reading the negative feedback left, without having this thread to fall back on, I'd figure you @sarredo sent him beers and never got anything back in return. But having this thread available, tells a different story than the feedback left, as no beers were actually exchanged. Its one thing to leave negative feedback, but "vague" negative feedback that doesn't match your story in this thread doesn't seem right in my book. Atleast edit the feedback to match accordingly.
Wasn't my intention to give that impression. Never had this happen before so it is something new. I appreciate all the advice. Can you edit feedback?
You did the right thing in not shipping anything given the sudden lack of communication. Certainly as the more experienced trader (and their lack of any trades) you would have waited for them to ship first anyway as it's normal protocol with trading. Doesn't look like the person has any trading history/experience so perhaps they got cold feet or didn't want to do the trade any more. Could their communication have been better? Sure. I don't think they are a bad trader. IMO they just had some poor communication regarding your agreed upon trade. I agree with dmbforever you should edit your feedback as that is not an accurate description of the trade. Just mention you two agreed upon a trade but they became unresponsive and the trade was never consummated. No beer was shipped on either side.
I think you should edit it and leave more of an informed statement...Im glad you are not out any beer...
I have mixed feeling on this, I think this is a case where I would chalk this up as a I wont trade with him again. Since no beers were sent or lost I don't think any feedback is necessary. Maybe that's just me but that's how I would of went about with it.
Sounds like beers would have been lost if they had been sent. I'd say bad feedback is warranted. Folks are so hesitant to leave negative feedback in these threads. I would want to know this situation if I were to set up a trade with someone who does this.
As always, please review the "bad trade forum" criteria posted by Todd before starting a new Bad Trade thread. Sarredo, please see the following language: Bad trades happen. And when they do we understand the need to warn the community, however, please read the following before starting a Bad Trader thread. Was the trade conducted on BeerAdvocate? Did you use the Feedback System? Was beer shipped, either by you or the trade partner? Have you given them a chance to make it right? Have you exhausted all methods of contact? If you answered NO to any of the above, don't post a bad trader thread. (Exception: It Forward trades) I can understand your frustration Sarredo, but the scenario you describe does not meet the criteria outlined above. Hence, you should not have started this thread. I agree with the suggestion made by dmbforever, and would echo that recommendation. Use the feedback system to let other traders know what happened in your case. @Fatcity... it would be my recommendation that we lock this one down.
Sold to the man in the front with the funny hat! No beer was swapped. The offending person might not be the top trader around but he also is trying to hide. Take it for what it's worth.
