Possible to search Beer Reviews?

I don't think you can do that? You can go to a particular beer and scroll or if you enjoy an individuals reviews more than another you could stalk him and go to his dashboard and see everything he has reviewed...

It would be a nice feature though...type...chocolate banana popcorn...enter...

 

Google may find that for you if you remember enough detail from or about the review (e.g., a short quote). And it can be used from outside BA or from within. From within BA if you go to the home page the search box there lets you search for a beer. If it can't find the terms in a beer name in the database you are looking for it will offer you the Google search option. So you may have to trick the within system get it to access the reviews rather than the beer names. So I'd recommend using Google from outside BA.

 

So you remember the beer and particular words or phrases of the review? Just use Control F.

I am with you OP, have thought same thing. Would be nice to be able to search reviews of a beer or place. Just like Yelp has. I use search feature on yelp when looking at restaurants.

Also, for a real life example here I had Apex for first time, tasted like PTE to me, would have been cool to search reviews and see if others noticed same thing.

 

Why? That’s a question only the designers of the site can answer. One possibility is that the basic search capabilities were built into the code were put there before there was a Google and pulling them out at this time creates too much risk of system crash. Basic engineering principle, "If it ain't broke don't fix it."

But based on my experience over a few years on this site they will consider your suggestions for site redesign and change of the search function. They may not acknowledge your suggestion or make suggested changes in the site but they don't just simply ignore suggestions.

Yeah, now that you mention it I do remember something like that. Altough I'm a bit vague on whether that Google introduction/replacement was intended as a long term change that they later backed off from or whether it was a temporary expedient while they got some of the other stuff under control during the integration of old site into new.
