It's true, he told me $40 earlier and now $50/bomber and $50/4pk. Pretty disappointed at these guys.

 

Plaza and Mira Mesa Bevmo were out. Bevmo I expected but apparently Plaza got their allocation at the same time.

Will continue to search more of SD, but I currently fear for my life when I have to enter freeways at 30mph because ppl are scared of a little bit of water falling from the sky.

Edit: What was weird was that I found bottles of New Belgium's Le Terroir which I thought was not suppose to make it to San Diego.

 

Did they get more this week and sold it?

 

No Plaza has not received a 2nd shipment when I asked. He also said he was uncertain if they would be getting any more. I'll keep checking and harassing them until they kick me out of their store though.

 

speaking of the actual beer, has anyone broken any out from this years batch? what did you think?

 

I Had the barleywine and it was really good, I like it better than last year's

 

Had coffee on draft which was served too cold but fantastic when at room temp. Barleywine as well on draft. Both didn't seem as good as last year but still excellent. Had '13 and '14 side by side on draft and '13 was much better. Refined/matured, just lovely. '14 in bottle was damn good.

 

I've had them all except prop, Vanilla is the worst of them all imo, but will be the best in 6 months + its way hot on the vanilla, I cant stress that enough, its not a deep flavored, balanced beer. Its a vanilla bomb. but once the vanilla falls off a bit it will be superb.

also, of the barley wines i found on shelf's, 2 4 packs were 2013, 2 were 2014. It appears a good amount of the barley wine that was shipped out was actually 2013.

and of the bcbs I got, I have 2 different abv's some are 13.8, some are just over 14%

 

Did anyone in the SFV get variants?

Did ab only provide us with reg bcbs?

 

I've had '13 and '14 regular BCBS SBS. Indistinguishable to me. Both excellent.

 

I had the regular which is delicious as fuck, tasted very close to last year (from memory). The coffee, I did a side by side and it's insane how completely different those beers are. The thing is that the '14 gets closer to the '13 once it warms further. I started the tasting at around 55F and the '13 was waaay better. '14 was more smoky, earthy, sharp, less sweet too. Or maybe I just prefer South American coffee more
