Post your 2016 Beer Stats

Looks like I checked in an even 650 beers last year on BA. Not bad!

 

I reviewed 415 beers in 2016.

My reviews average ~750 characters, so that puts my beer writing total to ~311,250 characters. That's 155612.5 words according to this site. In other words, I wrote 622.45 pages about beer if I was writing in MLA format (~250 words/page) back in high school.

 

484 new beers for me in 2016.

My highest rated beer was Wicked Weed Framboos Morte which was my first 5.0 in ages. I also gave Cycle BA Hazelnut a 4.96 and Treehouse Haze a 4.82.

I'm not sure of the style breakdown.

 

I don't have any actual stats, but this thread is making me feel like I have a bit of a problem

 

Looks like I reviewed 111 beers in 2016, although I drank far, far more...

My top rated beers of 2016 appear to be:

1. Old Stock Cellar Reserve (Aged In Bourbon Barrels)
2. Samichlaus Classic Bier
3. Stillwater / Westbrook Gose Gone Wild
Honorable mention: Avery Callipygian

'Twas a good beer year!

 

I rated 385 new beers during 2016. That is the most number of new beers since I joined BA in 2011. I actively sought to add an average of one new beer per day for 2016 and actually exceeded that average by ~20 beers.

Once I realized that I was on-pace for a "beer-per-day" back in late summer (or so). I decided to reflect upon my consumption habits. I resolved that in 2017 I would be far more choosy about my beer consumption. In other words, I am putting my ticking days behind me (for at least this year).

But, while living in Ticker's Paradise during 2016, here's my top 5 "new-to-me" beers for 2016:

1) BA TenFIDY - 4.68

2) Halftime Show (A Weyerbacher specialty - 2015 SMS aged an extra 10 months in oak barrels) - 4.58

3) Stone Vertical 12-12-12 (with 3.5 years of age on it) - 4.56

4) Freewill Ralphius (a BA Stout; had this on St. Pat's 2016!) - 4.52

5) Ale Smith Vietnamese Coffee Stout - 4.51

Oh yeah, if it ain't already obvious - I like big stouts!

 

I had 49 unique beers between Jan 1, 2016 and September 3, 2016 then stopped checking in for some reason.
And roughly 60+ more i didn't between then and the last few days before new years.
