Seems like over 1/2 of the help forum is about completed trades. Perhaps a better solution is having a way for traders to enter what they traded for a particular beer, just a simple field to be entered similarly to writing a review, so that the info is in 1 place and doesn't clutter the help forum? Of course, a sub-forum for completed trade is an option also, but centralizing completed trades under a beer profile makes the most sense to me.

    Thoughts?

@Todd, I'm just looking for comments from others right now before putting this over to the feature requests.

There needs to be a way to prevent trade inflation on there. What I mean by that is stating that traded a new beer that I was in line for and my 4 mules got me more of for a Don Q because it's that amazing, when said trade never happened. All they want is to inflate the value of the beer that they have. I just see way too much opportunity for abuse. I wasn't a fan of the closed option for the same reason, did the trade go through or did you just close it because you got bad feedback on your offer.
I just think that in this age of rampant beer speculation and resale sites that we need to have these value or completed trade threads. I just wish people would learn to use the search feature before posting a new thread. I've seen way too many threads where the first response is a list of other threads on that particular beer. I'm not a fan of the whole idea of what is my beer worth, but there are too many people that are trying to win trades right now so I made it as a necessary evil.

Recorded trade info that was attached to the profiles on both ends of the transaction might help keep things more accurate.

Probably not a small thing to implement, but I agree that it would be more useful than the threads, and could do a lot to keep ISO:FT posts closer to reality and help more trades actually get done.

Then people might just use their mules or friends to create accounts and create bogus trades. We've all seen some of the accounts created just to review one breweries beers at 5 stars. I like the idea in a perfect world, but the current environment scares me. Too much trade inflation and resale is having an impact on trades.

The idea is great for 1:1 trades, but what about larger trades? How do you decide what went for what beer? Would this be linked to the beer itself or a sub-forum?

Thanks for your thoughts and I have thought about potential abuse for sure. However, I don't think it's allows for inflation any more than completed trade threads here. Restricting who can post completed trades to verified users who participate in trading would be a condition. Linking to a trade post like @Yohann mentioned could potentially help too, but definite a more challenging implementation.

Again, it's nothing that's different from what is being done right now with these completed trade threads. It's a comment field for completed trade and the user can post 1:1 trades or whatever the same way it's in here.
