Potential New Brewery in Bedford Needs Some Help

    Hi all, there is a new brewery with the potential of opening in Bedford, TX, right in the midcities. I, for one, as a resident and home owner in Bedford would love this for many reasons! Having a local brewery would be awesome! And by the way, they brew some darn good beer. Unfortunately, a few teetotalers, and naysayers who would be their neighbors, who are driven by outdated ideas, fear, and hyperbole want to keep the brewery from opening in a spot that they can afford. I've been able to share some beer with the guys that want to open this brewery, they are good people, family people, as are a multitude in the craft beer community. It is a shame that there are still some in the populous who do not understand what craft beer is about. Their main fears are over-serving patrons and having "drunks" around children. From my experience, the craft beer crowd is anything but a bunch of "drunks" as these few would have you believe. Attempting to stifle a new business out of fear that is baseless is shameful, and we need new business, and breweries in the DFW metroplex. I signed the petition! A large part of what makes us a great nation is our entrepreneurs and small business owners. I included the link if you too, would like to sign this petition and support a new brewery in the DFW (midcities) area. (off soap box)

    As a resident of North Richland Hills I have to agree that I would love having another brewery option closer to where I live. I made it a point to sign the petition and I hope others choose to do the same. Thank you for posting!

    I signed yesterday...just curious if you need to actually be a Bedford resident to even count on the petition...there was a zipcode slot to fill out I think

    I am 240 miles away but I signed, might find myself in the fine upstanding town of Bedford one day while my future not yet born granddaughter is at a gymnastic meet. I might want to take a break for a beer :slight_smile:

    Signed. In Austin now, but lived in Bedford for 4-5 years before this. Sent to my buddy that still lives there and asked him to pass it on.

    Yes! We have a brewery in Bedford! Thank you to all who signed the petition and helped our local guys get city approval. I can't wait until they open. They said via Facebook last night, they hope to be open by December.

    From what I've seen, heard, and read of this lady that was opposing them...I'm surprised anyone would let their children around HER. She believes with all her heart that having a brewery next to her studio will corrupt the children somehow. That the city council "failed the children"...her words. Jeez.

    Of course then there were all the idiots on facebook going to her business page to troll and throw insults. That really helped our image a great deal. Thanks to all the douches for that one.

    End of the day, I'm glad Turning Point won. Now the beer better be good, damnit! lol
